Tis' the season to be jolly as they say and just before the arrival of the first ever Christmas drop within The Sims Social, it seems the developers added a feature covered by many other online Facebook games with the introduction of Mystery Boxes.
When you buy a Mystery Box, you have a choice of how many to buy in multiples of x1, x5 or x10 with SimCash savings for each higher increment Mystery Boxes bought. Once bought, The Sims Social game will automatically select your Mystery Box prizes at random. So you cannot choose which items you get, it's just luck. Maybe you could get lucky on a one Box purchase and win a Super Rare Item. The only downside to the random pick is that you could be given two items of the same.
In total there are 12 Winter Garden Mystery Box Items to collect, ranging from six Common Items, Three Uncommon Items and Three Super Rare Items. Here is a list of all them along with House Value, description and recommended SimCash price:

Love the items, I have everything except for the polar bear. But not going to try for that one. I'm happy with all the other items I got, a few duplicates but they will come to good use in my garden. :)
ReplyDelete149 sim cash for a bed? 39 for a tree? With a game forever in "RELOAD,RELOAD,RELOAD" mode. In this economy Sim needs to consider these things when price gouging the player/customer
ReplyDeleteALL of these boxes require SIMS CASH...Why can't you people be FAIR to those of us who are UNABLE to buy these things? As it is, we have to wait 5 days for only 4 cash...at that rate, it would take 7 weeks to get the SparkleDeer, and by then Christmas is over...grrrrrrrrrrr

ReplyDeleteFor anywhere from $5-15 Simcash each, you get a MUCH better deal than buying them from the Shop!!
I bought the Gazebo for only $15.00 in Simcash by buying a Mystery Box. That is a $134.00 savings!!
If you don't spend Simcash, I am sure there will be plenty of Simolean Items coming out at restart tonight-00:00 GMT!!
I am a very hardcore Sims Social player...I realize not all are like me. :/
I love playing Sims, but I refuse to pay to play. I actually have better things to do with my money...Disappointed that these items will be unavailable to me. Right now I'm feeling that Sims Sucks!!!

i spent 150 sim cash and got the bench 3 times(each is 49 sim cash) , the sparkle tree, the luxury gazebo bed, sparklebear, sparkledeer and some of the other stuff... but the good stuff already sums up to 405 sim cash, which ain't that bad since i "only" spent 150 lol

ReplyDeletePlus remember this is a fansite, not connected to EA or Playfish, so they have nothing official to do with the game. Seems a concept hard to understand for some people.

I love play the sims social, love all the itens, but i can't buy some things, and if you ask me why, i have an answer: I don't have money, and i don't go ask my mom to give me money just to play a game. She needs pay for another things, and this things is so important to us. Please, think in my situacion.
why not give one for free just like in country story games
ReplyDeleteI think it's unfortunate that it would cost approximately 22 real US dollars to purchase 10x the virtual items in that mystery box. Expansion packs in the actual Sims games (non Social) comes with hundreds of items and usually new game play... for around 20 bucks. This Sims Social Sim Cash exchange is a very real ripoff on the virtual world. I love the Sims, but I will do without Sim Cash.
ReplyDeleteI'm NOT a fan of mystery boxes ... it's okay to get "random" gifts but when it's multiples of the same items, it's not fair. One of the main things I liked about TSS is that EA did NOT do things like this--like other games do. I purchased 10 items, and got 3 winter lights bare trees, 2 mail boxes, and one bench (ho hum). It's NOT fun when we don't get to pick the prizes, or we get multiples of the same things over and over again. Have I made my point yet? LOL Also, there is NO incentive to buy multiples for a discount, there is NO discount. 5 x 15 = 75 and 10 x 15 = 150 ;)
ReplyDeletejust bring back the damn teru teru's! Would rather be collecting coins than buying the Christmas crap!! This game is really starting to tick me off. I have played The Sims since it first came out on disc and was excited to see it added to social networking, but COME ON..even the non-sim cash items are too friggin expensive! Either lower the price or increase the coins gained from playing the game. And why is it that it states "up to 10" in Sim Cash and no one has even got more than 4!!

ReplyDeleteI don't understand why people complain so much about things costing Sim Cash. Not everything in life is free! They are in the business to make money just like everyone else. If you don't want to spend $ on virtual goods, than don't. Settle for what they have for free. You'll notice that for almost every single item in the game that costs Sim cash, there is usually a more mediocre version available for Simoleons or Social points. Buy that one. You're able to play the game for free just as easily as someone who spends money, so just be happy with what you're getting.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I won't be spending any $ on the mystery box, simply because there are a few items I don't like AT ALL, and don't want to take the chance of getting them. I'd rather spend my Sim cash on a sure thing.
People, there are TONS of holiday items available that do not cost Simcash. I understand not wanting to spend real money on virtual items, but it's not like you can't enjoy the holiday stuff without doing so. Look at all the options in the shop!
ReplyDeleteI think this is a nice little "extra" and though I can't afford to spend my money, I have some Simcash saved up from the Fan Week and I'm hoping maybe the'll put these mystery boxes on sale or something, that would be nice! If not, oh well.
I sure hope it snows in game closer to Christmas!!
Also, as an aside, you do not save money by buying in bulk on this deal. Whether you buy one at a time or not, 10 mystery boxes will be 150 Simcash either way. Would be nice if they did add incentive for buying 10 at a time!

you guys know that this site gives you links for 2 free mystery boxes so you could get 2 free items without paying. my first box was the winter lights luxury Gazebo bed and im happy with that, I'd rather have that than the bench.
