A small update to The Sims Social online Facebook game earlier today has changed a few tiny things in the game including bug fixes, Cheshire Cat increases, the removal of snow and the biggest and most controversial being halving the Simoleons earned via Skill Items when Inspired.
We have to remember that our Sims earning Double Inspired Bonus was a relatively new feature that was implemented into the game on 6th November and it seems we have become accustomed to it ever since.
Now instead of earning double the amount of Simoleons from using Skill Items when Inspired, the Inspired profit amount will now be half of your regular Mastery Skill profit. So 34 Simoleons would be 51 when Inspired, 26 Simoleons would be 39 when Inspired etc. Do The Sims Social developers think players have been getting too rich over the holiday period? Will the Double Simoleons Inspired Bonus return at a future date? Who know, we guess we'll all have to wait and see.
We guess that The Sims Social universes thoughts on this change will not be positive, but we'd like to hear what you make of it, what the reasons could be behind it and if you think it will return in the future? Let us know your opinion via Facebook, Twitter, Forum, Chat or lave a short constructive Comment below.

Yes, I noticed.. :(
ReplyDeleteWas getting far to rich anyway
ReplyDeleteLAMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
ReplyDeleteGuess I don't mind the halfing so much as long as they drop the price of some of their items. Otherwise they have priced me right out of the game.
ReplyDeleteWHY are the developers so intent on making fans upset???
ReplyDeleteSo they managed to add in skill items within the past month or so priced at 40,000, 35,000, 35,000, 33,000 simoleons each, then pull out the rug on people trying to earn money quickly. I'm glad I already own 3 of those 4 skill items and am only 7,000 away from the last one. Between this and the aquarium mess, I'm really starting to wonder if these guys have their heads on straight.
ReplyDeleteMY GOD! sad :(
ReplyDeletePersonally, I liked doubling my Simleons when my Sim does something artistically, musically or culinary, under inspiration. I have no clue why they changed it.
ReplyDeleteI just hope the fall-out on this change is not too big.
This saddens me! :(
ReplyDeletei earned over 100,000 over the holiday from my tree so as much as this sucks as there are things that now cost 35,000 (dam pianos) i understand that the idea of getting something really cool looses its effect if it comes easy. annoyed yes do i get it sure
ReplyDeleteI have been sooo disappointed in some of the changes the developers have been making lately..... And this is the cherry on the cake!!! I cannot believe that they have done this. Why????? It really makes me upset -_- Especially with the constant updates of new items. How am i supposed to keep up without the extra simoleans!!! I am still saving up for the girly theme!!!
ReplyDeleteIt seems daily that The Sims developers are getting greedier and greedier. Everything is so pricey with Simcash and the only decent items cost real money. I loved this game when I started but it looks like soon I won't play at all. Halving the inspired pay is just one more step in the wrong direction. I've hated the last few themes and it's only getting worse by requiring Simcash. It's just not worth it anymore.
ReplyDeleteI think they just don't want us to get ahead. This has been something we have been doing all along, not just during the holidays..The whole point is to earn as much money as you can so we can afford to buy those expensive items you have for sale. How else are we suppose to afford a $35,000 item???? Just another way to knock us down...
ReplyDeleteI haven't played Sims in a couple weeks and I just don't have any drive to try to again. I just don't feel like there's anything to achieve anymore, the rewards for quests have been terrible, they keep making changes, and this news doesn't surprise me. My main problem with the game was how slow it is. Playing became more of a chore than entertaining. Apparently I'm not the only one that thinks this as even though I have well over 100 neighbors, as time wore on, it became more difficult to get gift requests accepted as more and more players lost interest.
ReplyDeleteI really liked and used the double when inspired feature.
ReplyDeleteI think the bonus when inspired should remain the same as it is SO hard to get enough money to buy the things we want. If you're not going to do that then lessen the prices of items in the shop so it's more reasonable, especially when time is limited to get certain items.
ReplyDeleteDISLIKE. Prices have definitely gone up with the new collections. It seems particularly UNfair to both raise prices and decrease income. I play the Sims to escape from price gouging, not subject my sim to it as well.
ReplyDeleteBut they just removed the energy flower and ripped everyone off with the fishtank scandal...
ReplyDeletePlayers have become accustomed to making 'purchases' sooner due to the increase in reward after the 'effort' to become inspired.
ReplyDeletePersonally I became accustomed to 'buying' items with more simoleons and the faster purchase was a nice part about the game. It made it more fun and now that the increase is gone, I am not as enticed to play as often.
grrrrrr they would do this when I'm broke :(
ReplyDeleteYep, just noticed that a few minutes ago. Not really pleased, as I was trying to grind some simoleons. It made me shut down the game and go do something more productive :S
ReplyDeleteI got such a shock when I saw this... I think this is a step backwards but hopefully they'll lower prices to even things out a bit.
ReplyDeleteI really don't like the new changes! the most beautiful things... all costs simchash, and is now more difficult to earn simonelones >.<!
ReplyDeleteThis is totally wrong. I spend my coins to keep up my house value to compete with friends so my coins don't build up so quick. Things cost a lot. I work hard in this game, and play most of the day doing so. But yet the highest value of coin i had at one time is 10,000. They need to put the double back on for us little guys who have been faithful since the start.
ReplyDeleteFirst, introduce lots of items that cost a buttload of Simoleans, and THEN decrease all of the players' Sim's abilities to earn those Simloeans.
ReplyDeleteSecond, don't forget about the limited energy. Limit a player's ability to earn or have any extra energy gifted to them, and no more energy plants for a little boost.
Totally makes sense.
really dont like this at all. i am not able to waste my real cash on this game, plus there is too many problems to take that chance, so i have to spend most on my time earning the cash and gold!:(
ReplyDeleteI just saw that in the game and I hate it.
ReplyDeleteGetting too rich? I think not. We don't get nearly as much "money" as we do from other games in fb. It's probably my biggest complaint about The Sims, lack of funds....well that and the slowness.
ReplyDeleteAnother great move to lose players. Hope you fall off top ten on AppData SimSocial
ReplyDeletetsk tsk tsk... What next? Are they going to get rid of the special package? what more can they do to ruin this game for me?
ReplyDeleteI don't like it. It's hard enough to earn simoleans without having to buy Sim cash to convert. Not only that, the prices on new items are ridiculous (not to mention land) and most of your money goes on buying a few things. They need to reconsider this change.
ReplyDeleteas usual they bring a good thing and then yank the carpet out from under your feet.
ReplyDeletethat is horrible! every thing costs so much and now we cant even earn more to get things you request we have for quests. not fair.
ReplyDeletewell, I think it sucks that you are taking away Simoleons from us... not fair at all... I might just quit playing the game all together!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's it! This is the LAST straw! Why in the hell would the developers make a change like that, impacting our profit margin? It is hard enough to earn the kind of money needed to buy the extremely expensive items that are in the shop.....They obviously don't care about keeping their customers happy. From someone who worked in the Customer Service Industry for over 22 yrs, it is obvious Playfish doesn't know how to treat their Customers. This game is suppose to be FUN, and Playfish continues sucking the "fun" right out of the game. Good Riddance!
ReplyDeleteI think that the halving sucks but it was amazing to have. I felt like I was finally making headway on some money issues but hahaha thats life!
ReplyDeletei think developers in to read the post alot of people feel the same way just flat out STOP PLAYING sorry to be so negative but its the truth
ReplyDeletearh~~ we'll all be living poor now~ LOL
ReplyDeleteTHEY DID NOT!
ReplyDeleteThis is terrible. My sim isn't even rich to begin with. In conjunction with this they should make future items cheaper.
Since they're doing this, hopefully they'll lower prices for simoleon items too.
ReplyDeletebunch of CRAP!!!! 8(
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it! They should at least decrease the prices of items but I bet they won't do it.
ReplyDeleteWell, I am even more convinced to NEVER EVER buy any simcash whatsoever. It is really not worth it.
There are fewer and fewer people playing, and being able to make some simoleons was a good feature. I can't imagine the reasoning behind this, but it can only have negative effects on the players and cause even more of us to leave the game, which I am seriously considering doing. Why make things even harder for people? Is it a bid to force people to spend money? Well, it's not working on me! Already about half or more of my Sims neighbors no longer play - I may soon join the ranks of the inactive.
ReplyDeleteWhat are they running out of ideas for quests etc etc so that the player suffers.
ReplyDeleteTo add to my previous comment: actually, they way EA manages TSS makes me think that they see this game only as a marketing ploy to make people buy SIMS 3 for PC/Console (which works because I myself bought it..finding the console version much more entertaining than the online one)
ReplyDeleteThis is so unfair. We only have 15 energies to work off of. Not only that, we don't even stay inspired that long. Now we'll make even less than before? No doubt it is better than just the regular simoleans, but with everything being already so expensive, why not keep it as doubled? This feels like a demotion. You are doing the same amount of work, but getting paid less. With all the nice items being so expensive and earning more money being so difficult, I think a lot of true Sims fans will be very disappointed.
ReplyDeleteno longer getting double simoleons while inspired is enough to make me quit
ReplyDelete-Have Fun
BOO! Seems like it's just one road block after another.
ReplyDeletethats not right because the one's of us who would like to play and not have to spend alot of our own money to do things or buy things; getting inspired was one way to help myself and many others get what we wanted.
ReplyDeleteIn Wonderland everything seems bigger, not smaller. So they had to double the doubled inspired bonus for the Alice's week instead :]
ReplyDeleteI just realized I could make double the bonuses, so just getting half as much is still good, thank you all
ReplyDeleteTotally unhappy about this. Deleting my account in 5,4,3,2......
ReplyDeletei will quit due to lack of consistency and no respect for your fans. this is not a trust worthy game. i will go bacvk to evony. lots of lags and bugs but still no chsnges since it started that would affect my investments on the game
ReplyDeleteSadness...not happy about it..
ReplyDeleteDid Zynga secretly buy into Sims Social when we weren't looking? Because it's beginning to look a lot like Zynga ... sorry, still in Xmas mood even if it's over. *Snark*
ReplyDeleteIf Sims developers want to continue to drive away players by taking away incentives, they are doing a fine job. The newest Alice quest bonus isn't worth the effort, the Alice items are just too costly and, I wish we had the option to keep the snow. It looks silly to have elf hats and shoes lying about without it.
ReplyDeletewhat about grass to cut? No grass has grown in my hard for 2days and supposed to cut 6?
ReplyDeletewell, I already tough it was little the double pay, now is even worse...
ReplyDeleteNo, this was a bad idea. It only makes sense that if you increase the amount of simoleons a person receives, the more likely that person will buy more items from the shop to increase their house value. All they are doing is discouraging us from acquiring possessions and making it harder for us to stock up to prepare for big price purchases.
ReplyDeleteIt's also not fair for those who are starting the game. The ones with low house values are wanting to get their house value at least much higher from what they start with. By keeping the inspirational price to what it was before, they can at least spam their skills on whatever skill item they have and get the money from there.
with the new themes which have ridiculously priced items that come out every week, this is ridiculous. how to do they expect us to earn enough? i've been trying to save for the DJ deck, but now have to expand my land because no grass is appearing for the new quest.
ReplyDeleteHow are we supposed to make money for cool stuff now?
ReplyDeleteI will not be spending another penny on this game! I can see already that they are becoming like Zynga where it is all about them making you spend real cash to get anywhere half decent in the game. Sad but an obvious move for yet another very greedy online game.
ReplyDeletethey want the players to leave the game for good by doing such annoying things..... :(
ReplyDeleteI don't like it x(
ReplyDeleteThat's what it was before they made it double. Bleh, not excited about this change.
ReplyDeleteThis is a bad idea on the heels of a very expensive theme with the game so buggy that many times visiting neighbors (the core of the social aspect) becomes impossible. I'm not sure why they want the game that supports their salaries to drop more players but it seems pretty counter productive.
ReplyDeleteMoney money money .... ;/
ReplyDeletenice, but if you cut the bonus also cut the prices of the new stuff
ReplyDeletethere are so many other ways to earn simoleans, I don't see what difference it makes.
ReplyDeleteOh, I think I started to play after that increase. So I thought double insired income was a basic feature.
ReplyDeleteStill, I dislike this new change. I just feel I don't want to play anymore as they keep removing the good things...
Are they trying to push players away? I'm stuck waiting for grass to appear so that I can move forward on this quest... yesterday i spent hours, correction: i WASTED hours searching for an invisible cat that didn't actually exist until today. The cost of the most valuable game items now requires Sim cash or at least $30K simoleans, and they decide to reduce the amount of money we can make. I swear, I think they really want people to stop playing... oh and let's not forget my friends who still have their vampire costumes on because they can't remove them... FIX THAT ISSUE FIRST!! and there are the constant reload errors... the energy flower debacle, which by the way, I had to resolve on my own by putting the plots into my storage, and then removing empty plots... and lastly, there is this constantly sexist clothing option where the women may only purchase a dress and the men only suits... I agreed to stay through the holidays, but now myself and countless others are getting ready to walk away.
ReplyDeleteI like to play. But it is very time consuming. I had stopped playing regularly before the holidays because I was having such a hard time keeping up with the quests. It was taking forever to earn enough Simoleans to make purchases. I had started playing again when the Christmas trees made it so easy to earn. Part of the fun is furnishing your house. It's already a bummer that to purchase most of the nice things you need SimCash, which is not in my budget anytime soon. Ergh....not sure if it's going to be as fun. We'll see :)
ReplyDeletenooooooooooo
ReplyDeleteNot happy.
ReplyDeleteThe sims just sucks. They keep taking things away like this and it just makes me so mad. I'm so DONE with this stupid game.
ReplyDeleteI don't get this team. I think they must be thinking their game is getting more popular not less. When they are charging 30000 simoleons for a dress, 5000 for shoes, 6000 for a crown equaling a total of 41000 and you still need furniture it was not the time to cut earnings. Think about your job in real life. Everything gets more expensive but you make the same lousy money. Now they cut a quarter of your earnings. Are they also going to cut the cost of stuff? Prolly not. Balance the game you idiots. If you cut a quarter of my earnings I want to see 7500 off that dress 25% off the shoes, 25% off the crown and 25% off everything else. Simples. I'll give it a few weeks, but I expect a resolution to pricing or I am out. It was fine to charge that high when I was making more. Now I feel as repressed in game as I do out, if not worse.
ReplyDeleteIf your gonna cut back on how much we can earn, you should also cut back on how much some of the stuff cost to purchase as it was hard enough trying to buy the new skill items at over 30,000 each
ReplyDeletea few of us agree on booooooooo, hisssssssss
ReplyDeletethat stinks - it was taking me long enough to save up for things now it will take even longer
ReplyDeleteOMG I just signed on and had him!!! yay!!!
ReplyDeletethis sucks I think they could have easily raised prices on new things slowly and not made us feel like we are losing something. honestly until you get enough rooms you are always short on cash and by the time you finish your rooms you're likely done the missions anyways... just make it not worth waiting around for a once a week mission.
ReplyDeleteI am upset by this. i think the reason behind it is that they are hoping to entice us sims to log on more often for those of us who are finished ... but i believe those of us on the fence and signing in less and less may just leave altogether.
ReplyDeleteWell I was finally getting somewhere in the money department.........so much for that now. There's hardly anything left now that holds my interest in this game it's just getting far too complicated to make money, etc.
ReplyDeleteboooooooooooooooooooooooo
ReplyDeleteCan we have one week of updates with no problems, no issues, no glitches??
ReplyDeleteThis is poor marketing, the company is just sinking the game. Who cares if the players are getting rich its not like its gold coins so what is the problem. I dont know about everyone else but I have had it with this game, it has been erased and I will no longer spend a dime along with the rest of my family and friends who spend a lot of money on this game for nothing. Way to ruin a game!!
ReplyDeleteOh sure, and having prices of 30000 for a dress is perfectly normal with how quickly we earn money now ..
ReplyDeleteI hate that they changed it... It should stay double, i already feel like i dont get enough energy to earn enough money so this just makes it more annoying.
ReplyDeletethat sucks
ReplyDeleteEh! I'm not really mad about it, just more curious as to what the reason is. I bet it's because of us gaining a lot of money quickly. I like change though, it makes the game interesting.
ReplyDeleteWeak. It's already a lot of work to make enough money, why bother shaving off the dividends like that? Getting inspired every time I go to my sims house is starting to get really annoying esp when the app hangs juuuuuuuust as I have finished collecting all my needs, then reload and have to START ALL OVER AGAIN. This move makes the devs look like cheapskates and the money isnt even real!
ReplyDeleteProbably about the last thing left that I liked about this game. :<
ReplyDeletewtf?
ReplyDeleteOne more reason to leave that game.
ReplyDeleteThat's how they want to "save" the game? It's dropping down week by week, losing players... 2 months ago I had 57 friends playng it (52 active players), after that i've added ~12 Sim's fans... (so, i should have, now, 69 friends playing / 64 active) but TODAY I have 60 friends playing... 39 active players...
ReplyDeleteIt seems the makers of the Sims Socials tried to hook people on with large amount of simoleons and free gold cash and when they cut these perks down it will only encourage people to purchase items/cash with real money to cope with the increasingly expensive items. Very unfair if you ask me and its only suppose to be a simple fun game yet the makers are getting too greedy!!!
ReplyDeleteOK, NOTTT Liking this at all.....
ReplyDeleteNot happy at all!
ReplyDeleteIm disappointed at this feature removal. I'm a relatively new player who started in early December.
ReplyDeleteWhen you cut the players source of income even by a little it really makes me never wanting to open up this game a
As is, it is hard enough to earn money in this game making it is nearly impossible to keep up with the changing themes. I think it's important for the developers to remember that there are other games available that are more enjoyable. Many of my SIM friends have switched to other games. I have been playing about 8x per day using the BBQ grill earning 64 Simoleons per energy and it's still not enough. This change would most likely make me jump ship as well :(
ReplyDeleteI think that it's a little unfair that they would get rid of this bonus. I mean people were so used to it, to take that away now is just wrong and unfair. If we weren't meant to have it permenately, why did they introduced it to us as if it were a permanent change? if this was temporarly, at least come with a disclamer stating that this bonus would only last two months. This is unfair, I want my double bonus back. this is not good!
ReplyDeleteUmm! What the heck? I think it's fair to have it doubled, since shop items are extremely HIGH! This was making the game, at least a little more fun! seeing the sim cashed items so high, and then... At least being able to get high simoleons made me feel better. Is this going to be fixed and will it come back? Because, if not. This will take the fun away, for me. =/
ReplyDeletedamn! the items are getting more expensive and the earning of simoleons is getting smaller ? WTF !
ReplyDeletethe reason why i bought the DJ deck is to earn simoleons in a shorter time .... and they damn changed it!!!
i still haven't moved on with my 6000 SP aquarium !!! T_T
I guess I don't have a problem with it..I am more concerned with all the page crashes, unresponsive plug ins or pages that keep you constantly having to refresh and start over. This keeps you from being able to play and enjoy the game. Also I have been having sim cash missing and know I didn't spend it and no its not a lot but still just as frustrating. Let's get these problems fixed before the Sims Social finds itself out the door.
ReplyDeleteThats just sucky they took that away from us when they charge so much for the good stuff!!!
ReplyDeletelove this thank you all for your help.
ReplyDeletei cant believe u guys at the sims social! i solely play the game to make money, skill up nd achieve nd now its gonna take x10 longer to! im cosidering not EVER playin the sims social ever again!
ReplyDeletewhy'd you change it D:
ReplyDeleteMy guess would be that the double bonus was a "Christmas", "Holiday" thing and was intended to help offset the higher cost of some of the more expensive items (35,000 Simols) released during the last month or two.
ReplyDeleteThus, assuming no more high-ticket items are slated to be released in the future, there should be no need for the big boost in earning power we had. Think of it as a "Seasonal Bonus".
unfair
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you're already aware what we think of the new Inspiration Bonus being reduced, but on a positive note, I played quite a bit while the bonus amount was double and at least my Sim made good use of it! I hope to see it return in the future, hopefully as a permanent change rather than a temporary one.
ReplyDeleteThis is awful its gonna be a lot harder to earn simoleons. I think it's because they think people are earring to much money -__-
ReplyDeleteSo I don't mind this change, but do they ever plan to restore the daily log in bonuses that so many people are missing?
ReplyDeleteHow devastating :( It's already difficult enough as it is when they make the average skill item for sale at the high price of 35,000 simoleons! They better start dropping the price on the items if they drop the inspired bonus down to half. Otherwise they'll lose the interest of the gamers. It's difficult enough as it is when your up to 750,000K and you no longer have any room in your storage, you have to start selling your cheaper items and trying to replace them with more expensive things in order to advance any further. It starts becoming a chore and a whole lot less fun when they take away all of the rewards.
ReplyDeleteIt's so frustating to collect sim cash too buy things with sim cash.. And now I have to collect money to have simoleons too? I'll never buy anything... It sucks!!
ReplyDeleteThis is so unfair. The prices went too high after November 9th. I mean, look at the DJ mixer and the Brown Classic Piano... It's crazy!
ReplyDeleteThat is really disappointing. Aren't they supposed to be making improvements to the game? This does not seem like an improvement. Even with double inspiration bonus I can rarely afford all the pieces I want from each collection. It hardly seems like it was an overwhelming amount of simoleons.
ReplyDeleteBOOOOOO.
ReplyDeletei'd made the assumption that the developers upped the bonus as an incentive to get people to stay interested and keep playing. especially at the lower skill levels, it takes FOREVER to get enough simoleons to get the really good stuff. (especially when they insist on releasing things like pianos and dj decks for tens of thousands of simoleons!) at the higher skill levels, the cut is more a nuisance than anything else. but for non-OCD newbies, the distance between the wage and the cost of living will only be a barrier to sustained interest.
only way this makes sense to me is if its a precursor to allowing people to trade up their simoleons for simcash.
This is the situation from my perspective:
ReplyDeleteNew things every week or so.
New things often contain rabidly expensive items (15-35k).
In order to afford new things, I have been forced to grind skill items for cash and even doing that has only netted me just enough to grab a top-price item every 2nd or 3rd week.
(I'm not even going to get into the sanity-shattering aggravation of then having to waste days collecting random crap to 'build' the incredible expensive item after purchase.)
If this drop in earning comes hand in hand with a drop in prices, I'm happy. Or even just a removal of the 'build' garbage - CHEAP items are supposed to be build items, *that's why they're cheap*.
EA keeps making horrible changes as the days go by. WHY? :(
ReplyDeletewelll i hope their lowering the damn prices of stuff too. the only reason 33k is an acceptable price is bc we were able to earn so much. what about players who cant play more than once or twice a day?
ReplyDeleteLike I said and my comment wasn't post, many will not be happy about the inspired bonus changing. It's only fair if you guys leave it as double, like it was before because things are expensive as it is. Stop changing things for your own convenience.
ReplyDeleteBooooo!!! Give us back our simoleons!
ReplyDeleteThis is torture. With the Alice items up, I needed the simoleons.
ReplyDeleteI think that if you're going to half the simoleons, the price to buy items should be decreased. It takes quite a long time to accumulate enough simoleons to purchase items (especially the bigger items) as it is (and I'm sure a lot of the people who play have jobs etc. but remain faithful players just the same). I think it was rude to just take away the simoleons without even a warning beforehand. Also, with the working people, they try to keep up with the game, trying to earn those simoleons and are given a week to complete a quest...and then it's on to a new quest. Cutting the simoleons makes it near impossible to purchase the bigger ticketed items before the new items arrive. (I hope this is all clear to you.) Thank you for reading this....and please give me some grass so I can finish off the first phase of this quest. :D
ReplyDeleteHalved the double inspired bonus really makes me disappointed and discouraged. Definitely I don't understand what the point that EA keeps limiting the ways for players to earn more simoleons. If EA wants to half the simoleons, please be sure that to lower the price for the new released items as what we earn are all for what we buy.
ReplyDeleteYep, they give us 30+k stuff and now they halved our income. Smooth. How can I afford to buy that frickin' 30k Queen gown now? :<
ReplyDeleteThe point is they want us to BUY simoleans using SimCash. Forget it EA and Playfish! Castleville is more fun right now - and I can always spend more time in Second Life or offline with my Sims 3 games.
ReplyDeleteDon't like this change, I was finally get to the point of being able to buy some good stuff! Does anyone know if there is a way to delete neighbors? I have several who apparently don't play anymore & would like to replace them!
ReplyDeleteparty foul!!
ReplyDeleteeverything is over priced in this game for real!! I mean even the land!! wth 7000?? Now this? it really makes me want to find another game to play or pull out sims 3 because I deff not going to pull out that credit card like they are wanting!!
ReplyDeleteIt hurts me this terrible news. At present, the objects are expensive and without the double bonus is very difficult to buy.
ReplyDeleteIn this way only benefit those who pay in cash to buy your items simcash.
Is unfair to the majority. The stream of people who want to play and have something decent to buy.
But it's like life itself, the rich have the power.
In my country it is called stealing elegantly to benefit at the sacrifice of those who have less.
It is terrible what is happening in this game. It's not fun and it makes me very sad because I love this game.
Just when you think they've done something right like taking the limit off the items in the backpack, shazam they turn around and mess it up again...
ReplyDeleteThey keep pissing off the players, no wonder they're going down in popularity. So many bugs, game getting slower, prices going up, money harder to get, lack of quests, so many blocked at level 50 for months... Many of my friends have stopped playing, I'll probably be next.
I don't think it is fair to the players to remove the double inspired bonuses; Items are already too expensive. I also want to add that anything worth while buying is usually being sold for Sim Cash which I think is totally unfair. For example, take a look at the new release of the Alice in Wonderland items; you will notice that anything remotely cool is being sold for Sim Cash.....the good news is, I wouldn't waste Simoleons on that stuff, I think it's pretty bad.
ReplyDeletebetween all the bugs,(still have never gotten the super hero mask)then the constant OOOPS messages, and things high priced, now they half the bonuses, not sure if the hassle is even worth playing
ReplyDeletepfffft WHAT THE HELL?!?!
ReplyDeleteI have tried and tried to overlook most of the crappy decisions made by EA and Playfish in regards to this game. I cut them all kinds of slack. I was even one of the unfortunate players who jumped at the aquarium when it was advertised as a last chance item, spending ALL of the SP I had saved up over WEEKS, only to find it changed to a sale item for only 2000 SP. I let that go. I said "Oh well, just a game, it's still fun." But with this change it's not gonna be much fun anymore. If things stay at there current prices people won't be able to afford anything! If Playfish thinks they can force me into spending real money to keep up then they are sorely mistaken. I've left Zynga games for that reason, and I'll leave this one too.
ReplyDeleteapparently, i think there's 2 reasons behind this
ReplyDelete1) players will have to spend more time playing this game
2) players will use simcash to earn fast simoleons to get those 30k++ items
and no way in hell i will do it :P they're really getting ridiculous!
lol this is just like in real life...prices are high and the paycheck is low xD
ReplyDeleteIt is very frustrating to me. I am disabled and don't make a lot of money this is one of the things that makes me smile (barring snags etc... lol ). I don't have a lot of money and can't afford to spend it on a game. I think its very unfair to have cut the bonus and raise the cost of the items!
ReplyDeleteSorry I do love my sims though i have 4 of them :D
halve the simoleon, halve the price of the item in shop
ReplyDeleteI hate this its hard enough to get money in this game as is...:(
ReplyDeleteYou know, SIMS is one of those few games I can play again and again and again and not get bored with, but I've been pretty frustrated lately. I'm not so worried about the lower inspired bonus (I played before it was doubled) but there are a few things that get to me: FINALLY I've got a Cheshire cat, but after three days, there is still no grass in my yard, so I still can't finish the quest. And the way removing energy flower was handled? I couldn't harvest my last four flowers, couldn't plant anything new with the flowers still there, and ended up having to sell my plots (100 simoleons each) and by four new ones (at 1000 simoleons each)... a loss of some 3600 simoleons because of a change in the game. Not fair, for sure.
ReplyDeleteWill this effect my playing of the game? Already a lot of the ninety some odd friends I had playing have left. I guess their frustration level with the game exceeded their fun level. I'm not there yet, but I'm rapidly becoming more frustrated.
Sure, half the earnings we worked hard for. I hope you lose half of your players too. :(
ReplyDeleteohHh... sad about that..
ReplyDeletethe game is getting BORING.. soon maybe, I will Stop playing this Game.
I use to enjoy playing the game. Now I feel like never using my debit card on sim cash and never buying facebook cards at the store . whats the point of this. REALLY dumb marketing idea. Hope the loss of players makes the creators of this game to lose their job. I work at GM and if we were to come in one day and our overtime was cut in half people would be absolutely irate. There would be a war. However, the owners would NEVER be so dumb as to mess with peoples money but that exactly what they did here. Im not playing until its returned back!!Im on strike. You lost a lot of money from me and I'm sure I'm just one of many that feels this way. just another sign the world is coming to an end. A big sarcastic thanks goes out to you all!
ReplyDeleteI think this was a bad idea for the developers to make. You guys already put some items on a time limit/sale and with the inspired bonus halved, that makes reaching the goal of getting the item (before time runs out) even harder. I think that's crap. You need to stop giving people things and then changing your minds. Do the research ahead of time please.
ReplyDeleteActually, I love it when a game gives me a reason to ignore it, so I can do something better with my time. Sayonara Sims. I like the sims well enough I would have spent real money on this game, but the cost of those sim cash items would have cost more than buying the actual Sims 3 with expansions. There's no way I'm ever going to pay real money on something less fun that costs more than real pc and console games that have far fewer if any bugs are much more of a blast to play and I'll own, rather than have to worry about the game being taken down some day. That's 10-60 minutes of my life I'm getting back, so I'm the winner, EA Playfish are the losers.
ReplyDeleteI'm mad
ReplyDeleteBoooooo
ReplyDeleteThis is insane! I hate you sims socail thanks for screwing us!!!
ReplyDeleteLAME LAME LAME! First of all, THERE ARE WAY TOO MANY SIM CASH ITEMS! AND Those sim cash items are WAY TOO EXPENSIVE! Heck I might pay a dollar for a cool item... but $10? $20? $100? This game is not worth that much! Its a stupid game that I get a little fun out of but it is SOOOOOO buggy, and on top of that the creators like to change up the items on us after we bought them! So that leaves me in a place where I only use simolions and social points... and then the prices on those things are outrageous, and the only way to get them is to spend WAY TOO MUCH TIME ON THIS STUPID GAME!.
ReplyDeleteI have little faith that this comment will be posted - about as much faith in Playfish/EA reading the complaints in the forums. But here goes: Cutting the inspired bonus is not going to drive away someone like me, who enjoys the challege of earning the money to buy things. Requiring me to CONSTANTLY harass my friends and flood my fb wall will posts asking them to send me things I need to build items or unlock a skill level is driving me away. That is why I don't play most Zynga games - I hate the constant need to post everything to my wall. However, in Zynga games, you typically get the same item you send, which is a great incentive to click on all those annoying posts if you like the game. I only have a few friends who play this game anymore (less than 5) and I think most of us just log in to send things to other players who might actually WANT to play. Oh, and I log in to see if my daily login bonus has returned. Nope. And no word from Playfish/EA about what's being done or when it might be fixed. Zynga would at least send me a bunch of in-game items to compensate for the error.
ReplyDeleteErm can you, like.. give us more simoleons? Why so stingy? It's not like its real money anyways.. pffft! Guess I'm going to quit sims social for now! ffffuuuuuuuu
ReplyDeleteI was playing before double bonus and considered not playing because i didn't have enough energy to get money. Now this half bonus is bogus.
ReplyDeleteThis games me miss Zynga and I know I am not going back there. I would have to live on the game and my Sim 3 need attention too (my life too ;) ) Bye Sim Social liked you from the launch but now I am adding you to my blocked app list. Over it
I will now begin to play only half time.... This is just a good move to stop me to play this game. They have so many bugs, steal money from me, and they fixing stupid things.... so sad
ReplyDeletewow.
ReplyDeleteEA just lost a player. I was already feeling like I was not generating enough simoleans to get anything real good now I know it is impossible. I would also give my girl simcash (my version of flowers) and those items have also increased. Needless to say she is furious about the change and is also considering not playing anymore. With all the games out there I don't understand who would make a decision to alienate all their players, in a recession on top of that.
ReplyDeleteHonestly it sucks. Everything is priced so high. What is it so bad to let us making double the simoleons when inspired? Please change it back.
ReplyDeletehaving to constanly buy new things and if u have items that cost 33,000 or more how can u have to much money.
ReplyDeleteIt sucks! They think we can play the whole day to be that rich to purchase their ridiculously expensive karaoke machine or grand piano? I'm getting furious with those developers.
ReplyDeleteThis game has too many glitches :mail feed that won't appear, daily bonuses that don't arrive, incredibly long time to load, etc. Now the devs have deliberately changed the rules of the game to skew it so that players can't achieve things as quickly: no 5 point bonus for visiting new sims, cutting the rates on achieving skills while inspired, and let's not even talk about failing to provide means to achieve items necessary for quests - yes, I am talking about the grass - And the constant spamming required to achieve goals, many people find this very annoying. The only way to show the devs your dissatisfaction is to stop playing. When they have no people visiting their site, they will get the message and change back, because they will be losing revenue. Hit 'em where it hurts people
ReplyDeletemy sims is going to kill himself
ReplyDeleteI haven't been interested in purchasing much of the gimmicky items they've been selling lately, which led to an accumulation of simoleons. Perhaps if they put out items that users were more inclined to buy (and didn't cost ridiculous amounts of real money) they wouldn't be seeing such an excess of funds overall.
