No The Sims Social Update Tonight

At 12am (GMT) we were expecting to see the release of the Alice In Wonderland Red vs Black Collection, however the developers at Playfish have made a brief statement informing players of The Sims Social that this update will no longer take place in four hours.

'Due to a technical issue, we'll be releasing the next theme and items on 12th January, P.M. We're sorry for the delay, but this cannot be avoided. We'll be sure to update you all. Apologies again from The Sims Social Team'

So it looks like we will have to wait until tomorrow evening for a new Quest, clothing and items drop! What do you make of this pushed back release?

  1. Is red the only color that Playfish is familiar with?? Seriously. When the game first launched everything was red, white or blue. Then for Christmas, they only offered red couches and chairs... for New Year's again they only offered red and white couches and tables... and now you say there was another red update scheduled for today??? How about some greens, or golds, or yellows...or even browns. (the flooring is great, but would it kill ya to make a brown couch?) And where's all the cool retro stuff like 60's psychadellic colors?

  3. well i would rather have to wait another day then have them launch it and have a millions snags! i'm sure it will be worth the wait! =]

  4. It's just one day. Couldn't hurt much. Just hope not almost everything is for simcash!

  5. That's fine. I just want to receive daily bonuses again....

  6. Doesn't matter to me if they push it back as long as it comes to us glitch-free.

  7. Technical difficulties happen & completely understandable... "& acceptance is the key." Besides, they've done a fantastic job doing what they do already for all us games. Computer Programming isn't the easiest of trades! :)

  8. Doesn't bother me.

  9. Yet another glith with playfish im getting tired of playing with all the issues they still havent even fixed issues that are currently still a issue. Think its time to find something else to play.

  10. Suits me just fine. I never understood why releases are done at midnight GMT as that means that the USA players get a head start on the UK ones by being able to start, essentially, a day earlier. Much better to release at a time the UK players are able to join in too.

  11. It is not going to affect or bother me. After the fiasco with the grass and the obvious conclusion that the grass was over written by the cat update as i have already got rid of 6 cats that arrived 1 a day, ironically the minimum rate they claim the grass should sprout, I have just logged in with 4 hours to go and found not grass but another cat. Goodbye sims, you have lost yet another player due to the developers incompetence and playfish/EA insulting stupidity and arrogance.

  12. Thanks for telling

  13. I agree about the grass fiasco. Of the 6 sims in our house, only 2 have cut enough grass for the quest. And that was because they were small enough to buy a plot. Losing all social packages after collecting because of non loading game and hitting snag after snag, it's become more of a frustration than fun. Whatever the hold up is with the new quest I guess I don't really care anymore, have mostly just been sending gifts and acknowledging requests and collecting daily bonus since the game doesn't play smoothly and most neighbors have quit.

  14. they did have that lime green space theme... and just a bit of blue around the same time.

  15. Agreeing with first poster on everything but a brown couch. That would be icky but we for sure need some more colors other than red. How about a purple update? A silver update? All about the psychedelic stuff as well.

I also agree with Aki. Considering the mass screw ups they have had lately they need to redeem themselves before asking for real money and making the items for real money worth it. Not silly flowers or the guards. I'd pay simoleons for those, real cash needs interactive items with multiple functions at a REASONABLE PRICE. Not what I can get a Sims 3 expansion for. This week was an epic let down.

Not happy they couldn't make the deadline. They need to get their act together.

  16. Since my time zone dosn't really match with the release time I rarely buy from the updates as soon as they are released anyway. But still, u can't seriously be pissed about this? U'll still get all the objects and quests, and because of the hold up u'll probably get it without any glitches. I doubht there's anyone sitting the last few hours before an item goes out of the game anyway, so what's 4 hours gonna do?

  17. This doesn't really bother nor surprise me. I'm getting really sick of the game. And all the red furniture as well now that it's been mentioned. I've been looking for ages for a nice looking non-red double bed which doesn't cost simcash!!

  18. so, they'll finally fix the damn daily bonuses?

  19. I can't even log in now what happened i was able to log in an hour ago

  20. yeah I am pissed about this none existing grass issue we should get more time OH AND SOME GRASS to finish this freaking quest I dont even care about the new update any more. Its just going to be all sims cash or some crazy some of money like 50,000 simoleans for each item. NOT TO MENTION CUTING OUR INSPIRED BONOUS OUT. You have lost me too playfish Im done.

  21. I'm still saving up to buy everything I wanted from this last week so that's fine by me.

Never did get enough grass for the old quest. :(

  22. I believe it's fine, though the snags and technical issues are really often seen in The Sims Social.
To be honest, I was so impatient for the new theme, I was looking forward to it XD I even saved some Social Points for the future new theme instead of buying for a new bed, but now that it's going to be one day late, I guess I should just buy my bed ._.
It would be nice if we could get at least 500 social points for compensation too ^w^ I am quite always in need of social points.
Well well, I wish you good luck, Sims Social's team, I'm hoping for you to fix these glitches soon and make the game even better, because it's kinda going down and a lot of people are quitting. Also, the new Inspired thing is kinda sucky for us players. You could also make the social points gaining easier. Thank you !

  23. I am happy to wait, I much rather wait for the update to come out with out glitches then EA pushing out a buggy update.

  24. I'm so tired of red too...

  25. Im so diapponited on the grass. I am at 513K and couldn't complete the quest due to know grass & already had all my land. This is the first time I could not complete a quest since I started playing the game. Its sad....

    ReplyDelete
  26. last quest is the only quest i could not completed because of the grass issues, which is really disappointing...technical problem is understandable. However, it's better to sort this out or fix it and keep on improving it. Lots of disappointments would lead the players give up the game...

  27. I would rather they spend the time making great items then rushing new things out to us constantly!
Someone made the comment earlier about red items, and I agree! They may not be as eye-catching initially, but neutral colors and classic non-theme-y designs would also have a strong draw!

  28. Midnight GMT? I was wondering why the new "weeks" started at like 8pm. Made me wonder where the heck these people were headquartered.
Nonetheless, I'm not surprised. They're just taking a cue from the company who releases the regular Sims games. =P
(Verification word is 'shovedis'. Trying to tell me something?)

  29. I agree that I would rather they postponed a release till it's bug screw-up free (still bitter about the grass thing). At least they knew the problem and would rather sort it out before inflicting it on us. But they do need more creative designers ... their stuff are starting to look really dinky-looking and dated. Looks like they hired ex-Pottery Barn rejects.

  30. I woke up this morning to find my garden overrun with weeds, and littered with items, for the fist time in a week.
then, adding insult to injury, a pop up comes up offering to sell me the item that i couldnt get due to not having any grass to cut, for real money.

really, really not impressed with the mealy mouthed apology and 500 social points being offered up by playfish to say sorry.

  31. Im really2 dissapointed when I played sims just now...my black red tile they changed it into black...and I really dont like it...how come?
