At the beginning of January we revealed that the Release Of Cars Into The Sims Social Was Imminent, as we were informed that the online Facebook game developers at Playfish had signed a contract with car manufacturing giant Toyota and were going to promote the new Toyota Prius through a two week quest.These details don't seem to have changed, instead the estimated release date of 19th January has been pushed back to around mid March for reasons that we have no idea about? We can reveal however that the car that we believe will be available to use in game, is called the 'Yashimoto Prais' (Pictured) and for the time being only holds one interaction, being 'Wax Car'. It doesn't seem like the car is drivable in The Sims Social.
The price attached to the item is 10 SimCash, however we still do believe it will be given away on loan for free, for a period of two weeks, then after that you will have the option of purchasing it. This will echo the real life promotion attached to the Toyota Prius in which you can trial the car for a fortnight with no commitments to buy.

Yay! Bring 'em on! But where will the Sims be able to drive to? down their street? Will it just morph them to another house, like the mirror does or that shower? It would be fun to have them actually drive and go somewhere.

ReplyDeleteTo own a car that you can only wax, not drive seems kinda lame. It may never happen, but I know many of us are looking forward to the day when the game items are no longer limited to their squares (ie. can move around).

ReplyDeleteThey can charge only* 10 SimCash because it's a promo item and toyota is probably paying them enough from sponsorship. On another note it would be cool if we could drive to a neighbor's house when we visit them.
