The question raised by this debacle is why have Playfish decided to only send Free SimCash to a random few players and not rolled it out to the whole The Sims Social community? We've heard from a lot of players that have not played the game in quite some time and they received the email which in turn credited them with the Free 25 SimCash. Was this a promotion to try and get old The Sims Social players back playing and raise the statistics of the games Active Daily Players since they have made some big changes and new improved features for the game?
We here at The Sims Social Fansite would like to apologise to our readers for stating that the Free SimCash would be made available to everyone as this now does not seem to be the case. Whilst trying to bring you the latest news as soon as it hits, we made a presumption based on past promotions from offerings by the developers of The Sims Social, information passed onto us from a valid source and common sense which we deemed to be how Playfish would fairly play this promotion.
An official statement by Playfish staff read: 'We don't have any information on why some people got it and not others unfortunately. Anyone who was getting the 25 simcash, your account has already been credited. If your account has not been credited at this point, then you've not been given the gift this time.'
We would like to state that we are not associated with EA, Playfish or The Sims Social development team and are purely a fan site run and written by fans of The Sims Social online Facebook game and although we have provided valid and accurate news on Unreleased Items and features for nine months we on this occasion made what we felt to be a common sense presumption of how this Free SimCash promotion would be distributed, we hope that you have not lost your trust in us and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.

ReplyDeleteIf Playfish are trying to get old players back with Simcash.... so be it but then why are we getting requests to send ex players $1000... if they accept does it come off your total? With all the glitches, 'snags' and bugs at the moment I feel this error which 'in my opinion' is not your fault judging by the 'statement' they have given.... It seems as though too much time is being dedicated to the new updates rather than ironing out the bugs and glitches already present in the game... My fear is that if we have so many issues with 1 home how bad is this going to get with a 2nd? Food for thought because most of the 'decent' players are voicing the fact that they're fed up and are really tempted to quit..... the thought has crossed my mind often enough and having been a Sims player from it's very 1st release in 2000, the games has in all honesty alway been plagued by glitches of some sort, by now 12 years later you would think they would be able to sort it out, So - After all the issues... 25 Simcash would have been a welcome Thank you for putting up with all these issues...... just saying!!!!

ReplyDeleteI am not disappointed with you, I am disappointed with EA because they win a big prize for being the second most played game on Facebook and no monetary reward for us. If we do not play Sims Social, EA had closed the game and they know it. It grieves me to know that only a few were given the money, if we are all players why they do not give us an incentive or reward for being loyal players?.

They're fishing for the players they've lost along the way with their slow development, error problems, etc. It's bullshit, we all know it. Every person I know that's quit playing received the email. So pretty much, there's going to be a ton of people who don't care, will get the freebie, and it's going to sit in their account and never be used. Whereas all of the regular players are left sitting on their thumbs.

Ok Look PlayFish or who every else. I play this Game on a Regular basis. I have been looking for the Free Sims Cash all day. It's Sad enough to have to get the nice things that you put on here, But they are over priced just to be a game. When I got my taxes Back I spent almost a $100.00 for sims Cash. I think it's time to give you well Player rewarded for there dedicated to this Game.. Also why I am on the Subject How about a refund for the thing of getting players back by sending a $1000 Simoles. Then Read about a Day later.. Since that has happen. My Gift Mailbox has been Keeping all the gifts given to me I clear them then 5 Min Later there Back again.. Also you should unlock Gift requst to at least 5 email a day instead of 1 per day. Please get things right and make it right to your regular users or I will just stop and Block the Game. ReplyDeleteSame thing that brick & mortar banks do. They give the $100 bonus only to new customers... or in this case if you've been bad... you get the prize. But it should be noted that the game developers did not create the problem. The fansite inadvertantly did create the problem by saying everyone would get it and ALSO leaving it up on the weekly FREE THINGS List even NOW. Fansite needs to apologise BIGGER so that people aren't made at Playfish developers.

You have to put up with glitches thats bad enough but then they give away gold to people who probably aren't even playing the game! I have 2 accounts along with my hubby having an account and I know 5 other people that play daily and they didn't get anything either.

I'm done with Sim Social until they want to treat the players that have been loyal and continued to play this game and spend not only their money but time on this game. ReplyDeleteDon't know why so many people are complaining though. Yeah it sucks but if you hate it so much then LEAVE! Maybe that'll show Playfish how to treat their active players. I won't be leaving, I still think the game is too enjoyable/addictive.
Also, do you guys know you can get free simcash? You can do free surveys, or offers, or buy things from other sites and be rewarded with simcash. I got about 100 sc for free so far in a week. I would never actually pay for it though, that's madness.

This is VERY UNFAIR... I lost out on all of the Sim Cash rewards since playing this game, and I'm still not sure that is even fixed. I've been playing this game daily since before it was officially released and NEVER received ANY Sim Cash rewards... I love the game and will continue to play, but there are SO MANY things I'd like to be able to buy and cannot because they are Sim Cash ONLY items... I never understood this either.

They should have just credited everyone's account with 25 simcash to keep the old players playing. To begin with, 1000 simoleans is not very much when you consider the prices of most things, and I seriously doubt that giving them 1000 or 25 Simcash would make anyone play more.So thats why you reward the people who (in a lot of cases) have stuck with them though all these glitches, site being down, not to mention it being the absolute slowest game (by far) I play on Facebook and I play or have played 20+...But I still play b/c I have always liked the sims games,but now to see how people who became uninterested get extra rewards? whats up with that?.. ReplyDeleteAs for the person saying we have nothing to complain about cause you can get free simcash via surveys and such.... one big problem with those, they require personal info we should not give on the net and you have no clue what they do with those personal info.... do any of you know that the top security mesure to take on the net is to never give your real date of birth with your legal name... this is all that is needed for criminal to steel your identity, no joke... we had a seminar given by a procuror specialized in frauds...
So all those website insisting to get our real name and date of birth is a real concern and everyone should think twice about that one... personally I will not use those so call offer for free simcash... I care about the security of my info and I do not use my real date of birth anywhere on the net, I don't care if a website pretends it's illegal for me not to give it, I just won't, I know the risks of giving it and I say screw them...
in my opinion, alot of explayers started playing. and decided the game wasnt for them, but the largest percentage quit playing due to all the glitches, snags, and errors... dont reward those who quit, they quit for a reason... reward your loyal players... that play on a daily basis

ReplyDeletei play this game everyday...i find it unfair that only a few players get this and the rest of us are left out in the cold...even though the game has many glitches that need fixed, i haven't given up on it to date...personally i think they are doing just like zanga did when it came to all their apps like yoville and farmville...they keep it up and i will move on...i'm already upset over this last "french" thing that they had going on, where it insisted on the players finding a bed mate...there are young kids playing this game mixed in with adults...in my book it is a lawsuit waiting to happen, not to mention an insult to all who are french...then to find out that i'm not good enough - my husband isn't good enough - and neither are my grandkids - nor any of my friends that i play with - to get the 25 simcash...well that is almost enough to put the cherry on top of the cake...i will give it a couple more weeks to see how it all plays out...and then i look to walk out too...
ReplyDeleteEven though I wasn't one of the ones to get SimCash and I'm pretty annoyed about it, I'm really grateful to you guys for posting about it in the first place. EA/Playfish should be ashamed of their sneaky attempts to woo back players monetarily rather than fixing the game and letting it spread naturally through word of mouth - which is unlikely to happen with maintenance happening every day and regular bugs spoiling quests!
ReplyDeleteMore than that, though, they should treasure the players who've kept the game going. I'm not one of them, but I've seen so many online games fail from lack of support, something the Sims Social seems to be taking for granted.
Finally, if they had intended this bonus to only be for a few players and kept secret - a frankly laughable concept on the internet - they should have at least made it clear in the image that this was a 'welcome back' present so that regular players would at least know that Playfish wanted to exclude them!

Just like the did last year, when everyone got free sim cash... "Do it again"! And, make us happy! Many people I know, have deleted this sim social app from facebook... ReplyDeleteCome on, people....we're pissed because we're let down, thinking we were going to get the gold coins. We're not. And it's not even really a "playing favorites" thing...think about it. If the people who quit playing would play again, they would already be here. Chances are they quit because of the constant glitches that we ALL know are a pain in the ass. But we still play. You actually think 25 gold coins are going to bring them back? No. So PF/EA are actually not really giving anything anyway, just taking their chances that 1 out of 20 might return long enough to spend the coins then leave again, annoyed with the glitches again. So there's really no reason to complain. I'm one of those who would never spend precious actual money for an online game. The economy is too bad for that. Just can't do it. (Also it just doesn't make sense to pay 100 dollars on game furniture when I could pay 100 dollars for a piece of REAL furniture lol) I'll still play and feel segregated, living in the nicest place I can have for free and feeling like trailer trash when friends who are better off come to visit. At least the people in Little Haven don't TREAT me like trailer trash...
ReplyDeleteI'm going to side with Playfish on this one. This is a company, a company who has to pay their staff, they have costs, overhead...they don't owe their customers free merchandise. Go into McDonalds and tell them that you've been spending $1.00 on their burgers for years & now they owe you...they'll laugh at you. Try it at Sears, Home Depot, Grease Monkey...commerce doesn't work this way folks, you can't expect free stuff because you purchase from a vendor.

What dont they fix that, and see how the numbers rise. And now, they give simcash only to players that dont play? This is a problem! maybe they will realize that the dedicated and loyal players matter.
Ive been playing a really long time daily and to reward players who never play, when it is the daily players that got them their game awards is bs. They should have just credited everyone's account with 25 simcash to keep the old players playing. In not rewarding the players who keep playing they're going to loose up, because its more rewarding not to play.

They did that with the 1000 Simoleons, and worded it like we were getting something out of it. I think that some of us might stop playing if they keep doing that, so we can get our stupid incentives too... you ever think of that one Playfish? ReplyDeleteMaybe the 1000 simoleons they're giving away today is in response to the whole "give idle players 1000 coins" promotion... they seem to do that whenever enough people complain about something.
ReplyDeleteSo it might be wise to go to the Playfish forums and complain. Maybe they will change their minds when they see how many loyal players are ticked off this time around.
PF/EA can do whatever they want. It's their game. While it would be nice to have an extra $25 simcash, if they want to randomly hand it out then they should be able to without getting an earful. There are things I don't like about how the game works, but I don't have to play it. I continue to play it...without the frustrations, would it really be challenging? What is the deal with people thinking if someone else receives something then they deserve it too? Sounds like my two year old! You had the same random chance someone else did. We get free stuff all the time. Sometimes I miss out because I'm too late...oh well, life sucks sometimes, but it doesn't end the world.

I can understand giving the cash to players that quit, to get them to come back, I would like several of my friends to come back to the game, theres just so much you can do when visiting neighbors that haven't played in a long time. Not as much fun. But I also agree with most of the comments stated here. I think those who play ALOT should be rewarded even more. It hasn't been that much fun playing the game and constantly getting knocked off or having to deal with all the glitches and the disappointments of not being able to finish a task because things don't work (like the french kiss). I bought a new computer to help play games this one in particular, I have all the Sims games. 1 thru 3., and most of the expansions. I was really hoping Sims Social would work out so I could enjoy it with my friends and even make new ones. I love Sims, but I may have to go back to just playing the CD games. This really was unfair and unkind. The game is getting more frustrating than fun.

I think that if they were going to just give out SimCash to specific people ( which I don't think they should have even done) they should have at least given it to the people who play EVERY DAY to get their daily bonus and who save up the measly 2 SimCash rewards on the 5th day to get stuff. I play 2,3 times a day and never got more then 2 simcash per 5 days so I managed to save up a skimpy 33 simcash over loyally playing a bunch of months.
I will be very, very sad and dissapointed in them if I don't hear an update that everyone recieved simcash, not just them.
It's like they don't care, they're dancing around giving us the finger, singing because they won the awards anyways.
They shouldn't forget thanks to who it is they got an award, and now they're too dutch to give their loyal players a little extra.
Shame on them.

The lack of gold coins arent the reason ppl left, the constant bugs, slow loading and lack of longer quests are. Im a bit disappointed, they should have put some effort into the ones accually staying instead, Im disappointed.

ReplyDeleteI play Pioneer Trails (formerly FrontierVille) because I don't mind the questing, plus I'm not forced to maintain my avatar's needs (except for energy) nor do I actually have to socialize with my neighbors. That's what turned me off the Sims Social.
And to think that it's because of you Sims Social fans (allegedly, anyway) that EA is getting ready to ruin the single player Sims 3 game by introducing the same cooperative gameplay into the game with the crappy Simport feature, plus other "social networking" features. Yeah, I'll come back to the Sims Social all right...about the time hell freezes over.

ReplyDeleteAs if this game wasn't bad enough, there's this BS. I started playing for my girlfriend, but this is too much. The game slows down my computer, it doesn't work on Firefox, and the sims themselves can easily be diagnosed with OCD (They need to clean themselves almost constantly), ADD (easily bored to an extreme) and Co-dependence (they can't take care of themselves without you). Before I played this, I heard good things about the Sims. I loved Sim City, and most of my friends recommended the Sims 2 and 3. Now there's not a chance in f&*% that I'll play the other games. The only incentives of the game is to spend money and play further in with no goal in site.
ReplyDeleteI like that this fansite gives free stuff out, but the links expire quickly and...I just can't express on here how bad it is that they advertised the Free Cash and didn't deliver. I've been gaming for nearly my whole life, and generally when a game company promises alot, they deliver at least part of what they promised. Even the Fable series, that became progressively worse throughout the games, had some redeeming qualities. This game is just a big ball of marketing and terrible writing.

There are A LOT of people who play this game for HOURS EVERY DAY,and they purchase the Sim cash,putting their hard earned money into some internet game,and they get nothing for funding your shitty services. The game itself has needed to be fixed with all the glitches and issues it has,and has had since earlier last year.You are steadily adding new things to the game and jack them up to 99 Sim cash,the new changing hut for example in the game. You need to know your business,and your associations with other companies before you release a big statement like that. This, oh we didn't know and we are not affiliated with them is total BS. ReplyDeleteit would be nice to receive at least 20 sim cash + 200 social points every week and would be given every first day of the week when the new theme is announced..i'm a daily player before and spends hours playing sims but since there were a lot of problems with the game it wasn't that fun to play anymore..i haven't received daily rewards for more than 3 weeks and the quests are so impossible to finish! its like us(the players) have been cheated that no matter how hard we try or how much energy we wasted there were still no progresses made so that we can't have the quests rewards!fix this!!

ReplyDeleteSo a lot of people have beed a pissed off about playfish actions in the game goal , the great amount of sim cash you have to give in order to buy a single item for example sim social has now added a new thing to the game woah you can have a tiny litttel space for yoou to make a beach house problem the hut is 99 sim cash and the rest of the things that go inside are outragesly high priced so what gives ?? also the makers of this game temd to sometimes be a littel stingy wsith the items that you collect for instance thAT cafe thing finish every of the tasks inside it to get a coofee machine im almost at the end of it and i feel as thought the game those not want me to finish it cause i have to wait countless hours for the item link to recharge . Also i strated playing it when it first came out and a lot of the most basix things at the begging are 30 sim cash and up and one starts with 20 that not a lot it does not cost them anythign so why are they hung up on place these high prices , 25 simecash they should give tht to everyone who plays every day like a mouthly reward for playing if they did that im sure the rates of the game will go up put alas our voices never seem to reachs the ears of the makers so why the hell do we even bother too coment on this thing if they dont do shit about it !!! . That's not right. Why not reward your daily players with a thank you for playing and being loyal. I'm all for figuring a way to get old players back but what about us....the ones who remain and play daily and alot of us buy simcash. So why not give to all instead of a few!!! Makes no sense. ReplyDeleteI play every day... maybe they only give it to people they know will appreciate it, rather than the 'casual' players who just play when they feel like it. Kind of like a 'thanks for being loyal' thing.

ReplyDeletei mean their are several acties like this, sometimes you have luck and sometimes not.
what is the matter if you didn't got it? if you play everyday, you will have at the end enough simcash to buy something that you want.

ReplyDeleteI received an email the 6th of July from The Sims Social informing me that 20 simcash would be credited to my account on the 5th. The email stated I didn't have to do anything.
