The Sims Social Tips | 1000 Simoleons Neighbour Request

!!! UPDATE !!!
This feature seems to have changed slightly since the initial update and now some players are experiencing the Simoleons deduction whilst other players do not seem to have any deducted - We will keep you informed of any additional changes

If you notice a new request that looks similar to the one pictured below when browsing through your messages in The Sims Social, please make sure you understand that clicking 'Accept' will deduct 1000 Simoleons from your account and transfer it to the Neighbour stated in the message.

These messages are sent to your inbox randomly by The Sims Social and have not been requested by your Neighbour. It seems that this is Playfish's way of enticing old players of the online Facebook game back to play and check out the new updates, as the majority of the requests seem to be coming from inactive players.

By clicking on 'Accept' please remember that you will not gain 1000 Simoleons, you will lose them from your virtual wallet and they will be sent to the stated Neighbour and at the moment you have no option to request Simoleons from your friends as this is done randomly by the game.

Have you seen this new message pop up in your The Sims Social inbox? Have you been generous and sent your Neighbours the 1000 Simoleons? Let us know via Facebook, Twitter, Forum, Chat or by leaving a Comment in the section provided below.

  1. This bites. I had 3 of these things!! Why don't you tell us about this junk before you put it in the game!!

  2. I have clicked accept several times and have had simoleons sent to neighbors who haaven't played in months. I just thought I was sending them and not having them deducted from my account. That seems a little sneaky to me. No wonder I couldn't seem to save enough for a particular item. I was giving my moey away.

  3. Thanks for the warning. "here is" is very misleading language. Bad Playfish! Bad!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Good to know!!!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Hmm...I clicked on it but nothing happened. Nothing was deducted. Maybe they have to accept the coins for them to be deducted.

    ReplyDelete
  6. yes, I've clicking all my request without carefully read them 1st. Than I realize, there was 1 new request of 1000 simoleons goes to a nonactive neighbour

    ReplyDelete
  7. wat the why does it say here is 1000k to help... i thought it was giving me .. omg i did it 3 times

    ReplyDelete
  8. I accepted the request but the amount of my simoleons was the same after i accepted.so no I didnt loss any simoleons.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Thanks for the warning !

    ReplyDelete
  10. Well then, am I not the more generous neighbor lol.... = (

    ReplyDelete
  11. I accept it but i didnt noticed any withdraw from my simoleons count :/

    ReplyDelete
  12. Oh I'm pissed. I just sent 1k simos to an inactive player before I saw this. TY, EA, for screwing me over again. >.<

    ReplyDelete
  13. what the heck? dude that's not fair. While people are trying to gain their money up really bad sim social wants to do this to us?? We need to save our money for the new themes.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Ther wording could perhaps be clearer, but it was quite obvious to me what would happen. I was happy to accept them regardless; if it brings some of my only semi-active friends back then (which is likely the aim) that's all well and good.

    ReplyDelete
  15. some friends of mine said something about this :p
    bad idea if you ask me... why doesnt playfish just give them 1000 simoleons?

    ReplyDelete
  16. I have reduced 1K simo x 7

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yes i already did this twice! i am so glad that you informed us of this trickery! thank you so much lol!

    ReplyDelete
  18. This sucks and looks fishy, I thought it was spam as the neighbor who requested doesn't play anymore.
    So, not only do they reduce the inspired bonus, now we have to give away our simoleons? What's next? Give away our simcash??

    ReplyDelete
  19. this blows!!!!!!!!!! I didn't realize the coins were mine. U SUCK Playfish!

    ReplyDelete
  20. one of the inactive player sent me this message and I pressed accept by mistake...can i get reimbursed?

    ReplyDelete
  21. I actually received a request like this about 5 minutes ago, just after I read this, ...thank you for giving a heads up!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yep, totally didn't see this blurb first and lost 1000 simoleons, but on the bright side, I can't wait to see how Playfish corrects this obvious boondoggle. I expect payment in SimCash please. Seriously, guys, seriously? Take stuff from active players without making it clear that that's what's going to happen in a messed up attempt to get pissed off players back? That's your brilliant player-retention strategy? LOLZ. Oh man. That's a really funny joke.

    ReplyDelete
  23. seriously .. i thought that ment i was getting 1000 :(

    ReplyDelete
  24. Im VERY frustrated by this..I accidentally clicked a few of those,and have now deleted those ppl as friends.This is NOT a good idea for Playfish to do...ALOT of my sim friends have been juked out of $$ also. =(

    ReplyDelete
  25. Thanks for letting us know that it will deduct simoleons from our account. But now I'm not sure if I want to use this anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  26. i don't like this! it's not fair for daily players! to be generous from my wallet?? and they don't even like the game(they stopped playing)! thanks God i don't click the green button without reading what I agree with first! shame on you!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Lol...too bad I didn't check your page about 10 min. ago ;-). Note to self: make sure to read over Sims Social Fansite FB page before heading to play TSS...Seriously, though, thank you guys for putting this info out or I would have kept accepting this ridiculous request all day!! (slaps forehead) :-p

    ReplyDelete
  28. Damn!!!
    It´s written in a way that looks like we will been given the $1000, not like we are giving our money to a neighbour!!!
    I have just been lied to by this game.
    I´m so pissed right now!!! >_<

    ReplyDelete
  29. this is really annoying!!!!! i'm sure my neighbors stopped playing certainly NOT because they were 1,000 simoleans short!!! and the simoleans we send to them would not entice them back to the game!! They are more likely to block the application once we bombard them with these 1000 simoleans requests!! so good luck to TSS!!! This is stupid as hell!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Gee... thanks for posting this AFTER!!! Now I've sent MY Simoleons to someone who doesn't even play!!! I am a generous enough person that if I want to give to my neighbors, I don't need any help from EA!!!
    UH... and if they're not playing anymore, how do you suppose they're seeing those inboxes???

    ReplyDelete
  31. I had gotten one myself... thats BS. have a hard enough time getting money as it is.. how bout doing something like giving them a special gift, not by giving our money away. do we get the money back? the more you do stupid things like this the more i dislike the game and am about to stop playing.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I just got one for a neighbour who has not played for a while and is trying hard to get on so naturally I sent to help him!!! Oh well.... :(

    ReplyDelete
  33. i might just leave so i can get a few thousand simoleans plus i clicked on 2 of them thanks you jerks!!!!!. since we lost simoleans we should get them back as simcash. p.s we need new ways to make sim cash

    ReplyDelete
  34. If this is an attempt to get old players back, know this. Pissing off the active players will not only make some of them consider quitting, but you probably won't be getting those old players back anyways. Who knows why they quit (probably all the darned bugs!!!!) Congrats on your dumb idea playfish!!!!!! Seems more like a punishment to the active players.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Just another annoyed player. Weak, very very VERY weak! Here's to the Devs realizing just how lame, stupid and DISRESPECTFUL to the players this sneaky trick is and responding with removing it immediately and some fat simoleon and simcash giveaways!

    ReplyDelete
  36. omg i did this and didnt realize i lost 1000 bucks lol lesson learned thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  37. bummer!!! thanks for d blow EA! I just clicked n sent my own simos to few neighbours who haven't play the game for months???? now tht is stinks.

    ReplyDelete
  38. DON'T you see people? The game's producers are trying to suck as much money out of you as possible. One way of doing this is by slowing down or reducing the amount of simoleons you can have. They've recently made many efforts to achieve this. They've halved the Inspired bonus, ensured new items cost a lot more, will not allow you to increase productive assets (i.e., buy more plots and allow you to increase your income cash flows with time and investment, like most games) and now they've slyly implemented a transfer link that deducts money from you.

    Do something about it and boycott the game EN MASSE.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Well I had one in mine, but I read this article first so I was prewarned,lol but curiousity got me and I had to click it, well I neither lost nor gained 1000 simoleons so all is good

    ReplyDelete
  40. really wish I could swear right now as it would really sum up how i'm feeling. this is so effed up right now

    ReplyDelete
  41. I had 3 of these requests and accepted them. Nothing was deducted from my simoleons.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Are you serious? I had five or six of those stupid messages... for friends that must have added the game at one point, but who certainly have never added me as a "neighbor." I had NO idea that's what would happen... that SUCKS! I SOOOO wish they wouldn't do stupid stuff like this! I'm not THAT rich!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Grrrr saving for the paris theme aswell.I hope we get money back for this.

    ReplyDelete
  44. How pointless is it to actually take money from regular players and give it to the people who stopped playing? And haven't even asked for any money, by the way. If Playfish wants them back, why do they think my hard earned thousand Simoleons will get them, and yet, if they really want to give them the money so bad, why don't they just give it, without taking from someone else, it's not like there's a limit on amount of Simoleons in game, hh.
    All in all, this just seems like a very very stupid move.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I had one request, but I had to reload the game, and then the name changed. I did click it, of course not realizing that it would DEDUCT from me. Thankfully, my game hung again, so I don't think it did anything. I have 70K+ banked anyway, so 1K won't kill me, but I'm sure players with limited funds are really suffering from this!!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I can not believe the developers are screwing regular players over like this and for me, this is the last straw. I'm done with this stupid f'n game! A warning that the 1000 simoleons will be deducted from you when you accept should be boldly stated. I am sick of this shit from the developers. I worked too hard to save the goddamn simoleons to be giving them away by the 1000s.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Too much b.s. to keep playing this game. Last straw for me, taking my hard earned simoleons with trickery. Like there haven't been numerous reasons to stop playing already! I almost stopped playing when they took away the item grouping but this is too much insult to injury. A warning that the 1000 would come out of MY simoleons would have been appropriate because I have a LOT of friends who've stopped playing and I accepted numerous send 1000 request to those who will NEVER play this game again. Time to join the 12 million players who've stopped playing....

    ReplyDelete
  48. Seriously, how could the developer think of this? They are just making the current players pissed. More and more people will leave the game because of this.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I had a friend send me 1000, I was so used to just clicking accept and giftback that I had already clicked it before it registered what the 'gift' was. And I was stunned. I'm an active user and not hurting for simoleons but I hope they make this a little less random so I can send it along

    ReplyDelete
  50. yeah, i generously give 1000 simoleons to my neighbours T.T

    ReplyDelete
  51. i don't think its something to get mad about. its just simoleans and its not like its gonna take forever to get them back. i'm sure its just a glitch and we'll get them back.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Really? I've been gaining 1k simoleons after clicking these! This game is really glitched.

    ReplyDelete
  53. i wrote this on my FB page: I have already deleted the 2 people that I got requests from. I checked their page and they are not playing the game.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I will be deleting inactive sims players as friends. The game is sending active players requests from inactive players to send 1000 simoleons to them as an incentive to play. This is a new feature and if I get one of these requests from your sim account, I will delete you to prevent clicking this request in error, especially if we do not interact outside the game. If you decide to play the game again please feel free to send me a request. Take care.
    ReplyDelete
  54. i had accpeted two times, so i lost my 2000 :(
    ReplyDelete
  55. This is not fair!!! This is not a good change and it should be removed because we are giving away our hard earned money to inactive players. At least make the wording of the request more detailed and specific. This seems very tricky to me, not good Playfish. Who knows if they actually will come back with that money? Change it back or im leaving the game !!!!
    ReplyDelete
  56. I thought I was giving simoleons to random neighbours, not inactive ones. I thought it was kind of a cool thing to do and I have about 60,000 simoleons anyways so it didn't hurt me a bit. Now that I know it goes to inactive players, I will just refuse the request from now on.
    Playfish, if you want inactive players back, make it on your dime please.
    ReplyDelete
  57. Another fine example of socialism. One persons earns the money and it is taken away and given to someone else that did nothing for it.
    ReplyDelete
  58. WTH I just sent like 5k simoleons to my freaking inactive neighbors...
    ReplyDelete
  59. Definitely NOT accepting this! Gifting them 1000 simoleons is no guarantee that they will come back to the game!
    ReplyDelete
  60. I get the distinct feeling it's made to stop players from using those auto-accept programs.
    ReplyDelete
  61. Another thing I noticed about this, (I read the warning before I noticed I had any of these requests) When I recieved the requests from neighbours who I know have stopped playing the game and have no intention of starting again, I clicked ignore on the request. BUT it does not go away, if you refresh or restart the game, back the request comes. It just doesn't take no for an answer.
    ReplyDelete
  62. Ha ha ha ha ha, sounds like they have stolen you 100 bucks for real. Folks, this just a game, a very nice one. Does it hurt so much to lose some clicks?
    ReplyDelete
  63. i did this several times nothing happened...phew!
    ReplyDelete
  64. I understand the idea and purpose, but putting this Accept button in our inbox with the other requests is WRONG! I must have hit one by accident sometime without knowing it because I was working on the quest today and saw 1000 simoleons disappear from my page. Maybe it is deducted when the player collects. Please move this feature to be somewhere else, Playfish!
    ReplyDelete
  65. for those who thought they didnt lose any coin when clicking accept: actually, when email box appears when u log in the game, your money has already lost! if your dont accept, your money will increase 1000 simoleons, which is actually your money. if you accept it, sorry to say that ur just lost 1000s. i was cheated so many times that I couldnt even remember TT_TT
    ReplyDelete
  66. DAMMITTT!!! I clicked it before i read this article and my 1000 simoleons is totally gone now!! and i'm broke now!! DANG! I'm so pissed right now! >:( And i'm absolutely sure those my neighbours stopped playing certainly have blocked this application and i just wasted my money.Fuuuuuu!!
    ReplyDelete
  67. Been clicking these all day today and I haven't lost a single coin. Still have the 53,468 I had before I got any of them, and I still have it now after clicking 6 of them. Maybe it's random too?
    ReplyDelete
  68. I have accepted 10 or more of these! How is playfish/ea going to straighten this out? Simcash? Simoleons? Social points? I want my moolah! I have been extra bbroke lately.... this is why! They should notify us BEFORE making bonehead changes like this one! I thought the neighbor and I BOTH got the simos.... Nope! Tricked again by the sims.... I might just get the real game and say so long to tss for good... I am pretty fed up with these ridiculous changes!
    ReplyDelete
  69. TERRIBLE wording!
    Surely 'would you like to donate 1000 simoleons...' would be better?
    'Here's 1000 Simoleons...' sounds like they're giving them on your behalf. They should put up a warning.
    ReplyDelete
  70. know whats the worst about this it comes more to the people who play the game alot so the more you play the more requests you get its completely bull im playing the game piss off. also i have emptied my inbox of stuff and the same stuff ive already accepted to keep popping up its been going on for 3 days i constantly have 40 requests and it keeps rising im getting furious
    ReplyDelete
  71. I feel it is not are job to make inactive players to come back.It will just make the ones who do play the game not play so much if they keep losing 1,000 simoleans. I don't know about everyone else but it takes me forever to save that much.It's bad that we have to deal with the SNAGS OR RELOAD!I lost 2,000 before I found out what it was.I just feel that they should refunded us are simoleans!! Not happy at all about this!
    ReplyDelete
  72. yes i had 2 of this request and i accept them but they didn't take money from me,i'm sure for that because i check my money before the accept.The players that send me the request they didn't play the game many months ago,one of them is my best friend i ask her and she never send me this.
    ReplyDelete
  73. This is no big deal for me really.
    Some of the better skill items give close to 60 simoleans a pop, thats barely a full energy gauge per gift (and if it honestly gets someone who used to play, back into the game, totally worth it!)
    Now, if the money was refunded, if the recipient didn't collect in a week or so, this could be a VERY nice thing (though the best way would be if this was an all out gift from the company to inactives)
    ReplyDelete
  74. I've had this pop up once.... i hit ignore... now it seems everytime I open up Sims, it pops up again along with all the previously "ok'ed" information like "this person has sent you this from your news feed" .... 26 inbox msgs won't disappear now. ergh.
    ReplyDelete
  75. thats really cruel, I thought I was getting 1000 simleons. Ive accepted loads of them! :(
    ReplyDelete
  76. yes a lot af times :/
    ReplyDelete
  77. I have problems in my inbox sims applications often tells me what I have accepted help please. I have also this message in my inbox.
    thanks
    ReplyDelete
  78. I just want to say that this isnt right!!!!! i work real hard foe my simolions and for some one to just be able to take it is not right!! i'm pissed espically when i try to visit all my neighbors to help them out already! fix this..............
    ReplyDelete
  79. O keep have this message everytime I play.
    Also it seems all the request ppl sent me eventhough after I accept it and it still keep coming up each time I played... now I've nearly 50 different sending & request on my inbox...can this be fix? it seem keep accumulate...so annoyed!
    ReplyDelete
  80. That isn't fair at all!!! I clicked on it without realizing it deducted 1000 simoleons from my acct. It is very misleading and sneaky b/c they did not inform us of anything. I believe they should give the simoleons back that we have lost from doing that! The neighbor that I supposedly helped doesn't even play anymore. Its ridiculous!!!!!! I stopped playing Sims for several weeks and started playing again a couple of days ago. This is enough to make me STOP playing for good!!
    ReplyDelete
  81. thanks for the advice TSSF
    ReplyDelete
  82. omg I probably clicked 10 of those over the past few days not realizing.. omg!
    ReplyDelete
  83. Ever since the 1000 coins to a neighbor came into my gift box, it has frozen everything that had been in the box at that time. I can receive and send except what was in there that day... Can this be fixed?
    ReplyDelete
  84. I thought EA was gifting them the simeleons at my say so. I'm fine with enticing formerly active players to come back, but they should have been more clear that essentially we were bankrolling it, they were suggesting it.
    ReplyDelete
  85. ughhh clicked on 3 of them withour realising =[[[ booo
    ReplyDelete
  86. The game is actually giving me the 1000 simoleons so that is awesome but for those who are losing theirs due to not being informed that is just horrible.... playfish needs to provide sufficient warning to things like this!!
    ReplyDelete
  87. I accepted many request like that but never had money deducted!!
    ReplyDelete
  88. pls fix asap .. luckily i never accept huhu but it keep appearing in my inbox..so annoying!! ...
    ReplyDelete
  89. I never had money deducted, but it`s really annoying, it appears like every 15 minutes along with things I already accepted (wall posts), like almonds, for example, so I always have like 30 messages with things I already accepted because of this "heres 1000 simoleons..."
    ReplyDelete
  90. oh shit.. i clicked like twice!!!!!!!
    ReplyDelete
  91. There was no warning that the simoleons that are so hard to make and save in the first place would be just sent to a neighbor just for clicking a button that you randomly send out. This game just sucks anymore.. An to add the 25 in cash sent to them that dont play every day.. All of you are backwards in this game.. We have to play for our 2 sims cash a week... And you just randomly give out 25 sims cash to those who dont play every day. Then you send us that do play every day this message to give our simoleons to our neighbors With No warning.. No wonder your loosing players.. Good Bye...
    ReplyDelete
  92. Seriously?????!!!!! Darn EA. I accepted more than 10 of those requests, thinking it was like those items such as gdwill, paint, etc that u can send to one another without deducting from my account!!!! Hate it!!! Thanks for the warning though. i'm sooooo gonna IGNORE such future SNEAKY requests.
    ReplyDelete
  93. ughh i clicked a few.....
    ReplyDelete
  94. wow I've done it quite a few times!! think they would have worded it better. Like say you will be giving simoleans away not getting them. UNBELIEVABLE such deceit. WRONG WRONG WRONG to treat the players that way!!!
    ReplyDelete
  95. they changed it to "we will send them 100 simoleons for free" So I have been clicking on them. I don't know if it is being deducted or not. But it's only a 100 and the wording says "for free"
    ReplyDelete
  96. I absolutely hate this. It affects my wall posts that my friends click on and tells me they clicked on it every time I get on when it had already alerted me 1,000 times before.
    ReplyDelete
  97. Ya I have done this a bunch of times.
    ReplyDelete
  98. i was wondering where all my simoleons have gone. This was a very useful tip Thankx And now i really need them to complete my quest :( NEED THEM BACK, had to play long and hard to get those u know...
    ReplyDelete
  99. wish I'd read this earlier as I've been sending them every dya since this started!! :K That wasn't clear
    ReplyDelete
  100. For real?!?! I've sent alot of these... I want my simleons back, spendt alot of time on this game to get them.. :(
    ReplyDelete
  101. its coming to me all the time 3 or 4 times dayli i dont know why i only accept cause when i didnt accept after 5 minutes its coming again!But only 100 simoleons not 1000
    ReplyDelete
  102. I send these at least twice a day. I did not know it took my money at all. This is such a scam. It should have been posted how this option works. I have sent people these a lot!!
    ReplyDelete
