Prepare For..... Arabian Nights Week

Littlehaven is set to get a little sandy this week as the Arabian Night theme arrives in The Sims Social. It looks to be a great week to deck out your Beach House as the items and clothing for this collection are some of the most beautiful we've ever seen. In this weeks Prepare For... article we will be giving you an overview of the important items, clothing and features set to drop, as well as what you'll need to prepare you for the upcoming Arabian Week Quests and general tips to help get you through the week.

Skill & Project Items

Thankfully there doesn't seem to be any Project Items being released tomorrow which will give players of The Sims Social a welcome break and a bit more time to complete the usual Skill Item which we believe there will be two of.

The first of which is the Fearless Snake Charming Kit that will allow you to boost your Music Skill by an additional 24 Levels over 10 new Mastery Levels. The top 'Snake It Easy' level is set to drop 53 Simoleons profit when Inspired but you'll need to be at least a Level 26 Music Skill Level to start earning that sum and complete the Fearless Snake Charming Kit. The price should be 7500 Simoleons that will in turn boost your House Value by a nice +5200. You're going to need 5x Relaxation, 10x Entertainment, 3x Hope, 8x Metronome and 10x Sheet Music to build it when it's released tomorrow.

Click on the following bold link to find out more details regarding the Fearless Snake Charming Kit

The second Skill Item to drop as part of the Arabian Nights theme will be the very expensive Oasis Master Brick Oven which is priced at a staggering 109 SimCash but will boost your House Value by +16,100 and will only allow you to earn a relatively small 46 Simoleons profit via its top 'Maqluba' Mastery Level.

The Oasis Master Brick Oven is a late entry into the Arabian Nights Week collection and seems to have only been added very recently. From our first look at this new Cooking Skill Item, we can't say that it looks entirely worth its hefty 109 SimCash price tag but we'll provide a full review once its released on Monday 19th March.

Quests

The main larger Quest for Arabian Week will be called 'I Dream of Genies' and looks set to be a lot easier than the previous Quests this month from Eighties Week and Gangs Week that is set over 5 parts. Some things you can start doing now to help you prepare for this Quest is to plant some Grapes now as you'll need to harvest 6 of them to pass one task, so instead of waiting 48 hours you can do it in just over 24.

Also, get out any Purple coloured items as you and your Neighbours will need to collect some Purple Essence again as well as needing to earn Simoleons by performing actions on both a Music Skill Item and Athletic Skill Item, so dust off that Treadmill or Yoga Matt too. The Quest reward will be one of three collection items needed to complete the other 'Secret Vault' Quest.

Quest: I Dream of Genies
Parts: 5
Neighbours Needed: 10
Ingredients Needed: 12x Relaxation, 18x Love
Items Needed: Computer, New items from Arabian Week collection, Athletic Skill Item, Arabian Clothes, Music Skill Item

Minimum Simoleons Needed: 4600

The second Quest, just like last week is a Collection Quest that requires you to not only complete the above 'I Dream of Genies' Quest but also buy and build the My Peacock Pal Plushie but also finish all of the Fearless Snake Charming Kit Mastery Levels within a certain time period.

Your reward will be the special Cave of Wonders item which we will talk more about later. This Quest will require lots of Ingredients, time commitment and Simoleons to complete. You have been warned!

Quest: Secret Vault
Parts: 1
Neighbours Needed: 10
Ingredients Needed: 17x Relaxation, 28x Love, 8x Buzz, 10x Muse, 10x Plans, 4x Alien Toy, 3x Hope, 10x Entertainment, 8x Metronome, 10x Sheet Music

Limited Edition Timed Items

This weeks Limited Edition Timed Item is set to be the beautiful looking Oasis Luxury Bath that we believe will be released on Sunday until Wednesday for the price of 119 SimCash.

We are very used to Hot Tubs and Jacuzzi's being available as Limited Edition Timed Items, with loads of them been released in the past like the Loguinn Hot Tub and Ultimate Hot Tub. By the looks of things the Oasis Luxury Bath isn't set to provide anything different to these other than looks.

Interesting Items

There are a few new and interesting items that the developers at Playfish have drawn and are set to implement into The Sims Social online Facebook game this week for the Arabian theme including a Floating Carpet, Jinn Genie Lamp and the Cave of Wonders Door Quest reward item.

The Cave of Wonders Door will boost your House Value by +10,200 if you have the patience to battle through both of the Quests and have time to complete all of the Fearless Snake Charming Kit Mastery Levels. We still don't know exactly what the Cave of Wonders Door will actually do, but it is definitely very intriguing and looks to be different. Interactions include 'Open Sesame!', 'Lock Sesame!' and 'Peek Through The Crack' but the rewards do unfortunately still remain a mystery. We'll keep you updated when we know more.

The Floating Carpet looks amazing and has some fantastic animations that show your Sim and a Neighbour being able to 'Carpet Surf' and fly around the air on it. Beware though as your enemy Neighbours will be able to 'Pull Out Threads' from the carpet and you'll also be able to 'Sing About A Whole New.... Place?'. The Floating Carpet will set you back 89 SimCash for the priveledge of seeing you and a Neighbour fly around the Littlehaven air.

We guess no Arabian collection is complete without a Magic Lamp, after all the checklist has been ticked for other stereotypical objects like Magic Carpets and Magical Cave Doors. The Magic Lamp at the moment holds a price tag of 15,000 Simoleons and has some funny interactions like 'Peer Inside', 'Make A Wish' and 'Try To Make Tea With' as well as being able to drop Free Energy and other collectibles from it. The Jinn Genie seems to be worth its quite large Simoleons price tag if the item does what it says on the tin, but recently that seems a lot to ask for from Playfish. We'll provide a full review once released.

  4. The ridiculous amount of incredients listed here doesn't include the stuff needed to unlock all the levels of the snake charming kit, do they...? Yet another too insane mission, this is ridiculous.

The constant glitches prevented me from finishing the Poker table in time, so I was hoping for something easier and nicer to make up for it, but noo.....

  5. All these long quests are taking the mick, don't they realise that not everyone can be on Facebook every hour of the day, and some people don't log on everyday, they have commitments.

  6. Several cool looking things, but Im a bit disappointed with their simcash prices (but then again, when am I ever NOT). :)

  7. i'd like to have the ovens, but it's the way too expensive.
It just getting harder to get skill item without sim cash right? pheww

  8. These timed items, in addition to multi-layer quests, have become a scam, in my opinion. It has taken me 4 days out of 6 designated for the Gangster quest to even open the Casino table, and here on day 6 I've only been able to complete the first unlocked skill as I can't get enough dice and jokers to continue. So, no, I won't get the items at the end of this time-consuming nonsense.

I've missed 2 of the last previously timed quest items because I don't play all day long and my active neighbors have also decided to just ship.

I had to get all new neighbors for the Gangster quest and even then they've stopped halfway through it because they're also frustrated with the TSS issues EA/Playfish add with each quest and the old issues they can't seem to fix.

  9. This oven is a joke! A lot of us can't collect all of the items needed to finish the game table on time, so we are in no mood to know about another hard quest so soon! The quests are getting harder and harder to finish with all of the bugs and scarce availability of items. I'll be skipping this one; burned out on quests right now.

  10. so it's like alladin ???

  11. beautiful stuff, but i agree with everyone above on the fact that they are making quests far too difficult to complete, and are making the game more frustrating instead of more fun. :(

  12. This week's design is gorgeous, unfortunately I do not have enough simcash to buy everything I want. Still having fun with the other stuff though!

Am I seriously the only player who's LOVING this week's Arabian theme?!? It's the most beautiful theme I've seen yet. And not that expensive. I skipped 80s and Gang weeks so I wouldn't be tired of doing quests, because as soon as I saw the sneak peeks, I knew I'd be gagging to participate in Arabian Week.

  14. And again, everything that is worth buying is in SIMCASH! I'm not playing this anymore.

  15. This is bananas ! ! ! Is anyone else having problems with their Sims Msg Inbox ? I'm on my last mastery level on the Poker Table & can't even get my ingredient requests to show up so I can finish . EA/Playfish needs to slow down, they need to have a quest every other week, let people get through a said quest, then be able to breathe for a week, enjoy a theme, catch up on other skill items, get they money & items back up, etc . You'd think they figured that out by all the problems Gang Week brought . For them not to have extended the time limit for the Gang Week quest due to problems on THEIR end is ridiculous . I refuse to even attempt Arabian week & if I don't get the GW quest finished today (because of EA/Playfish complications), I am done with the Sims period . I'm an avid player & enjoyed the game once upon a time, but the Sims has more problems going on with it than folks in real time . It's an understatement how frustrating this game is (I read the comments just wondering do they ?) & to those that spend their $$ for use within the game have got to be furious . GET IT TOGETHER EA/PLAYFISH, MOST OF THE SIMPLEST SOLUTIONS ARE RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU .

  16. Who cares what the door is supposed to do? If it's of any game-value or even marginally fun - they'll just change it by the end of the week to make certain they suck any value or enjoyment from it.

  17. Has the Oasis Bath been released yet ? or is that this sunday ?

  18. Hey "This is Banana's" Poster...I had to submit a support request with EA games. They EVENTUALLY fixed the issue...way too late to finish the poker table but whatev....Reach out to tech support for the game. They will help you.

  19. How is it that I cannot log into my account now that I only need to unlock the last level of the Fearless Snake Charmer, but my daughter, who is half way through has no system problems? Mind you, we are using the same computer. On my account, PlayFish says to try refreshing my browser. Did I mention this is the second quest in a row, that this happens? Exactly on the last locked level? I find it very fishy, if you ask me. Food for thought.

  20. Everything is far too expensive, and the quests too hard to achieve. Not interested this time.

  21. Missed the monkey (snake charmer) now I can't finish the quest! I am upset with all these time limits b/c I can't be on facebook every hour of everyday!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I loved the themw but was so disappointed that most items were out of my reach because they cost so much SIMCASH! I can't always finish the quests because of 're-load' problems.....so I am not impressed!

  23. Anyone know what the very last request "snake it easy" will require so I can try and get prepared?
