Orchids will drop at a rate of around 1 in 5. So for every five Lotus Flowers you remove, you may be lucky enough to drop 1 Orchid which seems to be the reason for most of the confusion. We have to agree that it is proving rather difficult to find your own Orchids without asking friends for help. Do not mistake the old pink and green Garden Weeds for Lotus Flowers and make sure you spend your Energy wisely in removing them.

Deleteno confusion on identifing them but they show up RARELY! To make finding them part of a quest was rather a dirty deal! If that is the case then they should show up more frequently. It almost seems like the devs want us to stop playing out of frustration! This game is becoming increasingly less fun to play what with all the BUGS and the little hidden ways to make you give up SIMS cash. I have tried logging off, visiting friends, and so on to get them to appear without much luck.If they don't appear its a bit difficult to pick a flower!!

ReplyDeleteI've cleared the above plant well over 5 times and have never received an orchid or anything for that matter... (have no problem in seeing the complete difference in the two plants). I requested the orchid from my friends over 24 hours ago and game won't let me ask again??? Any reason for why this is happening now? I love your game and the hard quests, but there's always some snag that happens at the end... I'll keep on tryin!

ReplyDeletewhen there is a quest to collect orchids they magically disappear... I'm so angry at this game... I play to relax my self for my stressing job, but when the game constantly bugs and you have been asking for sand for a week and received nothing it's really frustrating.
ReplyDeletein 4 days only 1 lotus flower appeared. Just like everything in this game, it is so messed up and almost impossible to complete quests. There are so many bugs, maintenance on game for hours. And they think giving us a few free items will make up for it. I personally am done with this game!

ReplyDeleteI removed over 10 and it didn´t give me none, thru the whole quest I got only 2 from flowers. Difficult yes indeed! Same with the crystals no crystals in the lava rocks.

ReplyDeleteThe drop rate is far lower than 1 in 5. And crystals may be in the lava rocks, but you couldn't tell it by me. The Crystal Trees that you grow on the garden patches drop crystals (every one of them does) when you harvest them, but their growing time is 28 hours, so that's not a good source either. Better than a sharp stick in the eye, I guess.

ReplyDeletePEOPLE.......ALL you have to do is.......keep reloading your game. You MUST clear any items that are in your yard, each time ( birds, rocks, flowers) for this to work properly. I promise that there will be a new item EVERY time you log back in. ALSO.......to get water.....all you have yo do is CONTINUALLY get a snack from the fridge. Sometimes it takes 15-20 times for a water to appear. Be patient and you can get 5-6 in less than 15 minutes. Hope this info helps.

ReplyDeleteThey should either extend the quests until they fix the game or else give out enough free items and/or SimCash to complete the quests since we cannot rely on the "social" aspect of the game by giving and receiving the necessary items from our fellow players. Why should we pay out of pocket for the game developers' mistakes?

ReplyDeleteThis will be the last quest I do: I am boycotting them after this. I really wanted that quest reward too, the steam room, not to mention the Zen spring itself, but at this rate I am never going to finish on time, and I have given it my best shot! Craft 8 more Zen crystals, at this late stage, when everything but the spring is loading, and I can't even request stuff from friends? I give up. You rated this quest only 3/5, but, without a massive injection of free SimCash, it is just not going to work, given the serious miscalculation of Zen crystals required, never mind the stupid lotus flowers thing! :P

ReplyDeleteToday is the first time I have received an orchid. I have removed about 30 of the Lotus plants with no luck before that. And no they don't look anything like the pink and green weeds.
ReplyDeleteThe orchid flowers you find in your yard are hard enough to find already. Much less, every time I get an orchid in my yard it NEVER gives me an orchid to use. Not to mention how many you need of them. The amount you need and how often you come by them is just insane. Who ever made this did not think it through at all.

I'm now reloading the game like mad, since i just need 2 more and the profile-request just worked once (2 days ago, maybe it works again tomorrow). thats reeeeally frustrating. I could need a few days more. Or a bunch of Orchids for the last Task of this Quest, where even more Orchids are necessary.

The dropping rate is definitely absolutely impossibly not 1 out of 5. And this quest is absolutely impossible, especially the one with the manicure chair. Like many of the other ones. Its really taking away the fun of the game. I don't think ill be continuing to play for a long time
ReplyDeleteThis is an not identifying problem. It is a rarely shows up, rarely drops, I don't have that many friends to bug into finding my spam (now well hidden by timeline) problem.

ReplyDeleteTake that back I initially got 2 as drops while doing the Quest that required harvesting some of these Lotus flowers. But after that have not got a single one. And I've harvested them each time I've seen them. Luckily I finished the Zen Garden late last night. Not working on the new Quest. Was surprised some of the sections of the Spa Chair are 4 levels. That's a first.

ReplyDeleteI know that many (if anyone reads this) will disagree with what I have to say, but 1st, who ever said that it's meant for EVERYONE to complete every quest. Isn't that the point of getting better and better at a game. First not getting anywhere, then getting closer, then almost getting it, and finally, achieving the goal 95% of the time or better. When I first started I didn't complete the timed quest for more than 7 weeks, I just stuck to doing the skills, and doing the set quests. Also, my experience with the lotus flowers had been mixed, yes all I had to do was refresh to get one to drop, but the rate of getting orchids from them was something around one in every 15-20, no where near the 1 in 5 you quoted. This seems to be an on going thing, you quote a rate that is by far an exaggeration of the actual amount. Kind of like what they said about the grass. There have been alot of changes in the last month and many since this was put up, some have been great and some although necessary have had adverse effects on other objects. For instance, I bought a fish pond because I loved seeing the fish jumping out of it, had a zen garden going with it at the center long before they put the theme out there, now I have just a pond. I didn't pay the Sims cash that I did for just a pond, and feel totally ripped off, so are many others. I know your numbers are still stop dropping, because I'm losing a lot of friends to all of the bugs, rip-offs and greed for Simscash. I love this game, but I'm just like everyone else there is a point. For me it won't be not completing a timed quest, because I'm not having a problem there. It will be selling things like fountains and ponds with certain functions and then removing their functions down the line. Another example would be the stand of champagne that raised your social, it no longer does.....in the real world they call that bait and switch, and since some of these things are being paid for with real money, well, I wouldn't be surprised by the number of people like me, who want at least a partial refund on several items that just no longer do what I paid to see it do.
