Hippie Van Project Item Preview

A lot of The Sims Social Fansite readers were very excited when we revealed some Unreleased Hippie Week Items last week and rumours were rife regarding what the Skill / Project Items for the theme would be. We believe we've gotten to the bottom of the mystery with this Hippie Van.

Unfortunately we still don't have any information regarding the Hippie Vans Ingredients list and interactions but we're now very confident that this will be handed out Free to all players of The Sims Social online Facebook game.

If you were hoping that the multi staged Project Items in The Sims Social would be trashed then we believe we're all going to disappointed as it looks as though this Hippie Van may hold up to four or five stages turning the first rusty image into the final colourful conclusion.

Are you interested in restoring this retro love machine into its former glory? Do you think Playfish need to stop the multi stage Project Items in The Sims Social or would it be too easy otherwise? What other Hippie themed goodies would you like to see drop during this peace seeking theme? Let us know by Commenting below or via our Facebook, Twitter, Forum or Chat Room.

  1. I like it, I think it's cute and will look good at my beach house. As annoying as the multi-stage project items are, as long as they are free and not simcashed (which make them totally out of my reach) I am all for them.

  2. Yes PLEASE stop the multi stage projects...they are too difficult to complete it seems even the easier ones. I haven't been able to complete one in time in quite a while. Perhaps I have too many neighbors/friends who have stopped playing.

  3. I am excited for this event!
But really? FIVE stages? Three is enough. @_@ People have lives and Playfish needs to understand that.

  4. 4 of 5??? thats freaking ridiculous, we can barely do them at 3 stages!

  5. On the hippie theme, I would like to see a social interaction waterpipe (bong). You guys have us build bars for drinks, so I don't see a difference socializing over some weed....lol.

  6. I for one will not be participating in this "quest" Tired of spending hundreds of energy for things that just sit there. Not worth the effort or time.

  7. Four or FIVE stages??? Good god. How about one REALLY hard stage instead of five stages?

  8. ummm 4 or 5 stages?!?!?! are you kidding im working on both beds and i play at LEAST 5 times a day almost have good bed and on lvl 3 on bad bed now 4 or 5 for the van cut us some slack would ya?

  9. Anything they do will be easy for folks with unlimited time, large amounts they can spend on their credit cards, good internet connections, and a few hundred neighbors. For normal folks, you end up with one stage left when time runs out on everything. I've quit using sim cash. The amount I can throw at the game isn't enough to make up for half my friends having quit playing, or times like now where I have been unable to get past the first screen for over 24 hours- it snags as soon as I close the pop-up. Sigh. As an old hippie, I'd love the van. I'd also love to finish my car, and pool, and meditation pool....

    1. I beg to differ. I've never bought sim cash- the stubbornness in me just refuses to. I also only play about a total of a half-hour to an hour a day. I work a full-time job and spend lots of time with my family. I've not had a problem completing a project item or quest for months.

Snags are a different issue, though. That is a bummer. Did you try clearing your cache? That always seems to help me.

  10. I was not very fascinated with the furniture you`ve posted earlier (well, it`s too colorful for my taste), but, OMG, this looks extremely cute, now i`ll be really waiting for the Hippie week XD

  11. I don't mind a little tension, a time limit is fine but 5 stages is nuts. Playfish doesn't take people with jobs or school (or lifes) in consideration at all. Not to mention all the item requests we need to send out and recieving them a week later because you can't force your friends to play. Especially crafting items is a b*tch :/

But depending on the reward I don't care much if this is 5 stages, I like the junk version better then the hysterical flowermess, thank you.

  12. Ugh, all the multi staged project items take FOREVER and for those of us that work 80+ hours per week, it's sometimes impossible to finish them! At least they should make them easier i.e WAY less collectibles required to unlock stages and only TWO stages.....UGH we already have to suffer thru extremely annoying and CONSTANT reload issues and besides a few free parts and stuff, I think we deserve a break....espeacially for a hippie van....PEACE

    ReplyDelete
  13. I don't mind large project items, but I need a break! Every single week is too much. I'm still finishing up the car quest :S

  14. Multi path projects are awesome... but some players just won't add strangers just to play a game (or I've added a few extra gamers with the vespawhatever bar, pool and current quest SWAMPED)

... perhaps 2 choices... an easier path for those with little help or too much going on(scaled down rewards probably) but they'd be able to complete the quest... and for those like me that have 50+ gamers helping out then multi tier projects with the regular rewards/bonuses as usual.

How many of our friends have uncompleted jukeboxes or whatever sitting in the yard? No fun to visit, certainly can't be fun not getting them done on time...

  15. I actually like the look of the broken down van better than the restored one... if the reward isn't something totally awesome, I'm going to keep mine broken. :)

  16. Yes, I would like it, but only if we can more free beach-house land to put it on (my beach house space is all filled up, with my fairytale tower and swimming pool!). After that, you CAN trash the multi-staged project items! :P

  17. 5 stages?!!?!?!?!?!?

    ReplyDelete
  18. waay to hard the thhree stages can take up to a month to complete a five stge project would take double the time THIS SUCCKS!!!!!!!!! it kinda takes away from the fun of the game to have to strees over a dead line

    ReplyDelete
  19. 4 or 5 phases is absolutely ridiculous!! Especially for the end products!! There should never be more then 2 phases.... really it should all just be on one phase so you can see how many lines you have left.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Playfish should have no more than two stages on a project item

    ReplyDelete
  21. It would be pretty easy for me to build all of these project items, if it weren't for those pesky request limits.
I think that the game would not be too easy if they weren't multi-level project items. There should only be one level to complete these items, without a sending limit of requests

    ReplyDelete
  22. When are they going to give us more SPACE to put these items? I'm tired of the skills stuff. They need some new ideas...

    ReplyDelete
  23. i dont mind the multi level build offs. they need to give us more items to help along the way and itd really be great if the game wasnt going down on us so much! and i thought ea games ran the sims anyway! i saw on the ea help page where they were aware of the reload error last week and said they got it resolved and thanks for our patience we mean a lot to them??!!1

  24. does it also come with citation from the neighborhood watch about what an eye sore it is too? hope those are free!

  25. Thanks for the warning Sims Social Fansite.
    Won't be attempting the Van.
I still havent finished my swimming pool and until I finish other projects,No new ones, especially one with 5 stages.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I don't have any room for this, and even if I manage to make some room, it is so boring to work on the same object for a really long amount of time. Past two stages, I get really, really bored. And I don't like timed quests.

I like some of the theme, but I doubt I'll do much of it for these reasons.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Give us 5 weeks to complete that project hippie van if it is true that it has 5 stages!!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. What?! 4-5 Stages?! Too many ingredients? I'm getting tired of playing this...I'm gonna quit soon if you continue this kind of quest.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I bought two chairs seperately fro over $500. Neither chair registered for my quest.
But my sims cash sure did register.
This is becoming a common occurence!!!
I think I'm going to use my Sims cash and quit playing!
But, what does FB care they made their money!!!
Just remenber you lose one customer at a time!!!
Wish FB would be responsible. OH YEAH FB MADE ITS BILLIONS! WHO CARES ANYWAY!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Sim Zum Mat is not registering that I bought it!!!
Is this going to be yet another quest I do not get my reward because it will not register!!!!!!!!

    1. Have you finished all the tasks on it?

    2. i registers after you complete all the stages folks

  31. 1 stage instead of 5 would be perfect. Indeed, people are busy with their work and school so please give us some break.

    BTW, the van looks nice.
Gah, I added some new friends only for the game, it's completely insane. Only this way I can finish all my tasks in the week. I really wish they'd be more easy. :/

    PEACE!

  32. This is great i will finish it no matter how hard it is!.. we can woohoo there? if yes im so excited!

    ReplyDelete
  33. A hard project that will take me more than two days to complete? I love it!

The quests and builds have gotten to be WAY too easy. So easy, they're not even fun anymore.

In the Good vs. Evil week, I had both quests and both beds done in three days. I would really enjoy a good challenge in the future.

    1. Thanks for your support, the rest of the players won't finish anything because of people like you, who think that everyone can finish all the projects that are given every week, so they ask harder projects.

If you want challenges, play other games, not that one.

    2. well pin a rose on your nose, sorry I have a busy life and don't devote all of my time to a facebook game.

  34. I'd like to see some Beatle-mania or Beatles items since they were such a dominant part of the hippie movement!! And I think they should cut the projects down to fewer requirements and not need so much of one thing. There are so many people who have quit playing so i can never get my ingredients in time.

    ReplyDelete
  35. WE NEED MORE SPACE, FINISH GIVING US THE BEACH HOUSE SPACE PLEASE.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Nice, and i am ok with having difficult items, but they are getting much to difficult.
Can we please have a week off, like no extra quests at all, to finish our unfinished items.
An there is the craft flowers thing, i guess we at least need those for the van.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I don't mind the multiple stages as much as I mind the final 2 or 3 stages including at least 1-2 items which must be posted to the wall, are limited (usually to half the # or items required, so that the last 2-3 stages take more than 24 hours each to accomplish.

    ReplyDelete
  38. They need to stop with the multi stages! Too much stuff to ask for and wait for! Example, the hippie van requires up to 7x bouquet! REALLY?! >:( Also, stop having so many items purchased via SimCash! I'm not rich and I can't afford it!

    ReplyDelete
  39. We have had more than 3 stages before. They are short & easy. It's just a way to post more good rewards for your neighbors. We're getting big rewards for completing stages of things, like 2-3 energy, 30-60 XP & SP. Nothing has been as difficult as the real first item like this, the Patisserie. & it was not that big a deal. People just didn't take it seriously, procrastinated. You all complain about the wrong things. The beds took 3-5 days. You had 12. I literally skipped FOUR days on the beds & finished with THREE days to spare, & like a previous poster, I do not have all day to play, I do not buy SimCash. I have other things to do. For crying out loud, for 4 days I couldn't even work on them. Not to mention I didn't even log on to start the beds until Sunday, 4 days after the update, so the beds overlapped with the sports stuff. All done. & I have snags, posts that messed up, my mail has been royally screwed since LAST YEAR & I still manage so... Sim up!

  40. LOL. I'm not even done with my swimming pool yet!

  41. I appreciate the challenge of multi-stage projects but admittedly having them require so much effort that they are running over into the next week's theme and/or project item is becoming a bit much.

The difficulties I am experiencing with mail/requesting itemss in game, wall post bonus collection (after the implementation of Timeline), and generally with the collection of ingredients from actions towards is super frustrating.

Embarrassingly enough, I devote a fair amount of my time to this game and I still can't finish some of these projects in time for the abovementined reasons. I don't have loads of friends who play and I am not inclined to expose personal information to other players when I don't know them at all.

In summary - in case anyone from Playfish is actually reading the feedback given by players:

    1. It's difficult to source the quantity of ingredients required and in the time allotted (without overflowing into the next week's quest and project).

    2. I feel pushed and herded towards purchasing sim cash, and I don't appreciate it (I would and have purchase some simcash as a contribution to the time and resources put ito development of the game but to spend repetitively at the cost of actual cash to simcash? and when the game has as many issues as it does?)

  42. I just hate the Van one only cause you have to craft things, the rest.... including beds I finished. And I go to school fulltime, have a kid, and a fulltime job.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I am getting rid of the van, I never liked it anyhow and when I see it has too many levels and isnt worth it, its just in my way
