Gateau Wig Review

If you've checked The Sims Social clothing section since the Marie Antoinette drop, then you may have noticed the groovy new Gateau Wig. Whilst the look may not be everyone's cup of tea and your Sim avatar may look a little out of place wearing it after the Marie Antoinette theme is dead and gone, the Gateau Wig does hold a nice little perk that some players may find beneficial.

The Gateau Wig is currently available from The Sims Social clothing section for 1000 Social Points, which is quite a high asking price for a clothing item, but to be fair, The Sims Social has been handing out Social Points at a much higher rate with Special Packages and Red Envelopes whilst not providing many items or furnishings to spend them on in recent weeks.

Once you've purchased the Gateau Wig and placed it on top of your Sims bonnet, you will notice upon clicking your Sim that a new 'Eat Cake' action becomes available. Basically this action will see your Sim reach into their wig and pull out a delicious cupcake and stuff it elegantly into their mouth to boost 'Hunger' need. Granted, players who already own the 'Insane' trait are able to 'Eat Own Shoe' at the cost of no Energy and boost the 'Hunger' need without needing to be near any food type items, but if the 'Insane' trait isn't one of your active traits, then the Gateau Wig will definitely be worth a purchase.

We imagine most The Sims Social players will have bought the Gateau Wig in order to complete the Delusions Of Grandeur Quest with the aim to obtain the brilliant and classy Versailles Maid Fountain Quest Reward, but if you haven't, then it's something to definitely think about.

You can also 'Feed Cake' to your Neighbours, but this interaction will only drop the usual 2x Social Points instead of a higher increment which would have been a nice extra touch. Have you bought the Gateau Wig? Are you impressed with its perk or would you rather keep the valuable 'Insane' trait in play? Let us know via Facebook, Twitter or by leaving a Comment below.

  1. I am sure it is charming, too bad that even with the hundreds of dollars I have spent buying sim cash, I can't load my game today due to the 65% error.

  3. Happy to hear about the interaction but it doesn't appeal to me and I don't look forward to buying it, although I will have to for the quest.

  6. I am upset that social points are not really much used in sims social. but rather the sim cash and simoleons. I mean the developer should have more conscientiousness regarding social points,simcash,simoleons/item cost ratio. especially with the glitches in which u lose these when trying to get them but it should be more distributed between simoleons and points. For instance i dont get cursey or bow from wig so im just sitting here waiting for the glitch to be fixed after being locked out of account for more than five hours.

  11. eh. Can u make a wig that does the bow action? Because this Delusions of Grandeur quest is a real delusion that we will get that doll.

  13. i can't bow or curtsey.. the cupckae wig does not allow you to.. just either feed another sim or whisper in their ear.. so basically no one will be able to finish this quest unless they buy the other wig...i already wasted 1000 in social points buying tiles from the new theme and it didnt work towards part of the quest.. so ive spent the past 2 and half days trying to get my social points up to get the wig just for it to not work

  14. you feed them cake and that's like bowing to them, right? when your sim is hungry, they can even eat their own cake from the hair, lol, i love it! so cute! the sound it makes when cakes come out is funny too!
